The Samsung Q9F Series is the company’s flagship line of UHD TVs, but so far there have only been two choices for screen size, 65″ and 75″. But now the company has released a massive 88″ Q9F—the QN88Q9F ($19,999). It promises to blow TV viewers away with vibrant picture and impressive user-friendly features. As of now, the Ultra HD Premium certified, top-of-the-line 88″ Samsung Q9F is available to order in Korea and North America.
Samsung touts the 88″ Q9F’s ability to achieve 100% color volume in the DCI/P3 space used for commercial cinema. Color volume is a measure of how well a TV can reproduce rich color in all types of scenes. But the really exciting thing about this TV is the screen itself. 88″ of 4K quantum dot-powered HDR provides picture quality that pulls the viewer into TV, sports, and movies. It’s so big, it crosses over into a home theater experience, except that no projector can provide 1000-nit HDR highlights.
The 88″ Q9F QLED is a huge 4K HDR TV and the flagship Samsung QLED.
This is one of the largest consumer 4K HDR TVs in production, as well as one of the brightest. It shares the excellent user Smart Hub interface, One Remote remote control, No-Gap wall mount, and Invisible Cable connection. Furthermore, Samsung guarantees that it’s 2017 QLED TVs will remain image burn-in free. Plus this TV features a front-firing 4.2 speaker array cleverly integrated within its bezel, with 60 watts of total system power.
“At Samsung, we are aiming to expand our footprint in the ultra-premium TV market with our ultra-large QLED TV models that embody the perfect combination of technology and art,” said Jongsuk Chu, Senior Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With their superior picture quality and innovative features, we are confident that our QLED TV lineup will continue to drive sales and solidify Samsung’s leadership in the global TV market.”
The same press release notes that Samsung also launched an 82″ version of its more affordable MU8000 line of HDR 4K TVs. The new UN82MU8000 is currently priced at $4499 (MSRP is $4999) and, like the 88″ Q9F, it can be ordered now.
