I was looking at something like this but with a closed design for the components section. I like the mounting post style so it hold the tv up more.

or more like this just 1/6th of the price

This is a very personal call, you could build one to your own specs.

Those stands have weight limitations you should consider. I couldn't use one as the combined weight of my components would crash through the glass shelves. I spent weeks looking at stands. I ended up with something like this;

http://www.standsandmounts.com/index...OD&ProdID=5682

For my system I needed room for a center channel speaker along with 7 other components.

I also didn't use the doors for ventilation reasons.

I just picked up a TH50PZ85U 2 weeks ago and did a wall mount. I got this great TV stand at Bestbuy after alot of searching:

Whalen Furniture - BB68DBCON BB SKU # 8781366

Sorry, I can't post URL links yet. I'm new.
It is all real wood, has a center channel compartment behind a mesh panel, and curently has my Rec, Cablebox, Bluray, CD changer, and Xbox 360 in it. It also has a drawer for DVD's and games. I love it.

Hey everyone, so I went out and bought the 46pz80 and I am running the breakin pictures on sd card. I noticed that I cannot tell when 2 of the red transitions occur to darker shades. It just looks like 1 long red slide. I can see maybe 2 or 3 of the red transitions. Is this normal? I can see all the other colors transition to darker shades. I checked my computer to make sure the colors were right and I can see 4 shades of red. I copied the 20 files exactly to the sd card so I don't know why I cant see the difference on the screen.

Could be grayscale, which is something you dont get adjusted without calibration. generally you dont enjoy the top color gradiation out of the box. I would not sweat it.

I have also notice quite a bit of buzz when the room is quiet. It is like I am constantly listening for it now that I noticed it. Do they all buzz? I would get another if I had a high probability of getting a non buzzing set, but if it is a crapshoot, then I would learn to deal with it.

Just one question. I have the break in images on my sd card but i can't seem to view them full screen. I get the black bars on top and thick blue bars on the sides. I looked through the menu and tried using the format button, but it doesn't respond when using the sd images.

Is there any way to flll the screen with the images? Thanks!

(EDIT) Well i guess when i saved the images to my card they became smaller? I remember when i tried to save the pictures it had me convert the pictures to VGA dots. I am using a Canon ELPH. Do the images need to stay jpegs to retain their size?

You definitely do NOT want to run the break in SD unless you have full screen! The jpeg images filled my screen so that's what I'd recommend.

I an only speak for my set, and my neighbours, neither have any buzz, even with your ear close to the set. I can hear the fans cycle on and off, if the room is perfectly quiet.

Thanks vega. We have decided to return the tv today for another one of the same model. Even my wife commented that it was pretty bad when I asked her to listen for it. We are around 8 feet away and it is really really noticeable.

I just received my TH-42-PZ85u yesterday and it has a build date of October 2008, I noticed on the back that one of the fan vents didn't have a fan in it. My buddy that has the same tv with a build date of June 2008 has all of the fans in there vents. Does seem abnormal? Your replies are appreciated.
Damn, wonder if they forgot the fans.

I noticed this on my 42PZ80U too. Mine has a November 2008 build date.

Yes, I have September 2008 build date, my TV came in a few days ago, and there are 4 slots, 3 fans. The fan on the right side (looking at it from behind) is missing.

Also, there is a small black spot on the left side of the screen, I don't know if it's a dead pixel though because it almost looks like I can see the color behind it, and the spot is shaped a little irregularly. Do you think there is something stuck behind there or is it just a dead pixel?

I'm on hour 40 or so of break-in with SD, played some games for a few hours here and there, no problems seen. I did get some pretty noticeable IR when using the service menu though! I couldn't believe that.

The most right hand slot on my 50" is the missing fan.

Hi guys ,

I have searched alot in these threads and also different forums . I am trying to find the best settings for my ps3 and my 46pz80 .

I just picked up the tv and ps3 last week . I get a little confused as to what the audio , video settings in the ps3 should be .

My ps3 is hooked up via hdmi to a yamaha V663 receiver and hdmi out to the tv 46pz80 .

I get picture and sound . I set the ps3 to output pcm , so I think I did that right . On the receiver , it lights up PCM and 5 speaker lights are lit up . So I think I am ok in that area since I belive I am getting the true hd sound .

I am just not sure what other settings in the ps3 should be . For example upscaling , rgb , limited, full , etc ....

Anybody own this similar setup ? Can anybody help me out as to what is best ? .
I have searched , but I am still unsure .

Thanks
