For the past year I've been burning all my cash on A/V equipment so that when I finally get the OK from the wife to get a new TV, I'll have everything else ready to go. Got a new Yamaha 663 AVR, a dope Polk sound system (4 bookshelfs, center channel and a sub), a PS3, DirecTV HD and at last I will finally have the most important piece of it all this weekend! One question though... I currently have 800 series Monster component cables. I'm not in love with HDMI yet despite the fact that everything I have is HDMI capable. These cables are about as good as component cables can get, so my question is, do you think the picture quality using these cables will be just as good as the picture using HDMI in regards to my DirecTV HD box? I'll go HDMI with the PS3 but I want to avoid buying more expensive cables just yet if I can.

I'll have to post some pics for you guys once I get it all set up. I still need to buy a TV stand for it. Anybody know where to get a good one on the cheap? That stuff at Best Buy is OK, but it cost more than it's worth if you ask me. (sorry if this is considered price talk, I'm new around here!)

Yes I know I have a Pioneer plasma in the living room that is 2 years old and still has excellent PQ even from the sides. LCD will be in bedroom 5 feet off the ground so when im laying down with my shorty we will both be in the sweet spot I don't need a 3rd wheel in there.

I am not defending lcd when I do not even own one yet, I still have my 85u, i just dont see the amazement in it thats all and when i look at the sammy 750 the picture looks sharper and more 3 dimensional and the colors look good to and they have contrast ratio of 50k:1, the firmware is upgradeable via internet connection and u can display the weather, news and sports scores. I am still deciding if i am going to return it or not. Some People get so sensitive over a tv. wow.
