I have a Panasonic TH-58PZ800U that is giving me problems.
2 yrs ago in Dec the unit failed to turn on and gave me 7 blinks. I unplugged it, let it sit for 24 hrs, and it worked fine after that. Fast forward one year (again in Dec) and the same thing happened again. Once again, I unplugged, let sit 24 hrs, and it worked fine thereafter.
One month later the unit shut off mid-viewing and displayed a 2-flash error indicating a bad D board. Ok. I ordered a replacement and installed myself. When I tried turning the tv on, it still failed, but now gives me 3 blinks, indicating a bad A board.
The A board for this model is nearly impossible to find. My only real option in the near term is to send the board for a repair-and-return service. But before I do that, I want to make sure I'm not entering an endless chain where I continue to replace one part, which nly leads to having to replace another after another. Are there any other likely areas that would indirectly cause this blink sequence other than simply a faulty A board?
Other than a bit of dust which I have since cleaned out with some canned air, I haven't noticed any visible clues to problems inside. No capacitors appear to bulge or anything else of that sort.
