Spoon records all sound about the same to me. Buy one, then you've pretty much heard 'em all.

And that Jenny Lewis record is nice and all but almost goes down too easily. Like, it's catchy and agreeable right away, with nothing really left to grow into.

Sorry. I must be in a mood.

Well...to be honest with you, Spoon is new to me, so I haven't had a chance to digest this release. I like what I hear so far, and plan to also listen to the new one, Transference; I guess I'll know then whether I agree all their records sound the same.

As for Jenny Lewis...I like Rilo Kiley well enough, and the wife and I both loved Rabbit Fur Coat. So when I read this was a bit of a departure for her; more indie-rock songstress, than indie-country crooner, I was intrigued. Still digesting this as well...and now I've got the new one from Kurt's widow to check out too.

Don't get me wrong, each Spoon album has at least a few good songs I would miss out on if I hadn't taken the time to hear each whole record, but by the same token, they're not the kind of group I would be excited about in anticipating the next release. They're one of those "No rush, I'll get to the latest album eventually" artists for me.

Orianthi - Violet Journey

I paid $50 for this amazing artist's debut CD some time ago before better deals were available, but it has been more than worth it.

I've posted this before, but I really do think it's a stunner.
