Which Album (CD or Vinyl) Are you listening to now - Page 108

Teddy Pendergrass, "Joy." Oooooohhhh soooo cooool.

A little R & B never hurt anyone. Good CD for the moment: Friday, end of day, twilight, soft breeze coming through the house, neighbors going for walks outside. Sun is still out -- 6:45 PM. Peaceful, mellow, end of day.

I got my mitts on the newly mastered score release for Predator from Intrada, which sold out in less than 24 hours. One of Alan Silvestri's greatest accomplishments now sounds even greater.

I picked up the Inception Sound Track the other day, definitely takes advantage of a strong sub!

Nena - 99 Luftballons - on an older CD release I just picked up used for $4.99.

Wow, this CD is another good example of just how differently pop recordings are mastered today!

I don't know why everybody dogs Beat. I guess it's because Discipline was so "revolutionary", and unleashed AB on the KC world...and this caught the sophomore fallout...but I love this album. If anything, TOAPP is the dog of this trio...even though I love that too, because I kneel at the altar of Mr. Belew.

I've been listening to the soundtrack to 2001: A Space Odyssey, as well as Alex North's rejected score for the film performed by Jerry Goldsmith & the National Philharmonic Orchestra.

It is interesting trying to imagine how the film would have been received if North's score had been used in lieu of the recognizable classical music.

Not Madonut; not Lady Gag Me; not Buoyancy. Listening right now to Ella Fitzgerald Songbook. Just beautiful.

Transmaniacon's mention of a Zimmer score made me listen to the Crimson Tide CD in its entirety for the first time. It is an exceptional score throughout, and presented with incredible dynamics.

The great thing about many of Zimmer's scores is that they are fully engaging from beginning to end. There are usually no throwaway cues of mundane repetitiveness.
