Nice...........I have Touch and Barefoot Ballet but never heard this one, will have to look it up. Got to see him on one of the tours
backing up George Benson in an intimate setting. One of my top ten concerts.

I have "Touch" and "Barefoot Ballet" as well. "Constant Throb" is a little less "smooth" than those two. Never saw Klemmer in concert. My favorite concert was "The Who" at the Santa Monica Civic during their "Who's Next" tour, followed closely by Chick Corea during his "No Mystery" tour. biggrin.gif

That's unfortunate to hear. The "new" copies of Abbey Road that are flooding the record stores these days are digital sourced and don't sound all that great. You're best off buying an early UK copy with matrix numbers that end in -2/-1 on side A/B. Even with a bit of surface noise the sonics will kill the digitally mastered pressing.

If you find it the US (record store, show, etc) its very easy to spot. Look at the deadwax for side 1 having "YEX 749-2" and side 2 having "YEX 750-1". Ebay will always have copies available at varying costs...the most reputable dealers (aka accurate graders) will attract the highest bids. It shows up semi-regularly in the stevehoffman.tv forum classifieds. $30-40 should get you a decent playing copy, but if you're looking for near mint be ready to dish out $100+.

There are several printing variations (i.e. misaligned apple on back jacket, missing Her Majesty on the labels, etc) that attract a premium. Unless you're into that sort of thing, don't worry about it and just try and find a relatively clean copy. My copy have some surface noise but it is still a better listen to any of the domestic pressings I've listened to, especially the MoFi from the late 70s/early 80s.
