humm..i think i'll take a peak at this ..how would you rate the recording?

is it just me? or are a lot of ''vocals'' off center ? what i mean is that on some albums the vocals are dead center while others the ''vocals'' tend to be slightly off like maybe a tad to the left
so its really off putting......
I love 2 channel stereo listening and like to sit in my chair in front of a proper set up while playing an album.But i can really pick up on when the vocals are off center

Does anybody else notice this or am i being to picky?

Any comment would be helpful.....

^^ Why yes, all the time. When you go to a concert are all of the vocalists piled on top of each other in the center of the stage? If everything were dead center, creating master recordings would be easy and we'd all have mono speakers rather than stereo.

it just seems odd that somebody like Joan Armatrading on the Show Some Emotion album can have her vocal perfect dead center on one track then waiving all over the place like somebody is fiddling around with the balance control during the recording stage in the studio.....you would think if it could be nailed on one track then it could be on the rest.Instead it slides over to the left of the speaker lol for almost the rest of the album....
Maybe while some of these albums are being recorded the singer decides to run around the sound booth

Sometimes it's poor micing, and sometimes poor post-recording production, but whatever the case, this is why I have gravitated toward integrated amps (or pre-amps) that have a MONO switch. ..There are some albums that are almost unlistenable because of bizarre imaging. ..Some old Beatles recordings have nothing but vocals coming from one speaker, and all the music from the other. ..Great music, but atrocious mixing. ..Hit the mono switch and it's once again enjoyable. ..I'd rather hear a recording in mono than in very bad stereo.

Thanks thought it was just me .....it is very annoying and i bet a lot friends of mine who don't sit and actually listen to music would not know what i was talking about....but when you have an ear for anything that just isn't right it really does stick out like a sore thumb

Anyway i guess id best just ignore it and enjoy the music.Thats what its all about.....

You won't be disappointed. Viljans Oga is their latest and is very good IMO. If you don't have their first two albums, Hybris & Epilog, definitely consider buying them as well.
