The Machine & Sungrazer - split

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90

The Machine is another "stoner rock" band, similar to Colour Haze. I'm starting to like them even better than Colour Haze.

I posted just last week that I was listening to this. It was released on his 77th birthday on July 30, 2013. Since then I have had the opportunity to listen to it several more times, and all I can say is, "Wow!" I've been a fan of Buddy Guy since as long as I can remember, and I have about 10 of his albums, but damn it this master of the blues continues to get better. This album is hardcore rocking blues and burns down the house as much as any of his previous albums does. He hasn't slowed down one lick. The man kicks serious ass.

FWIW, Buddy collaborates with several other well known artists from various genres on this double album, but my favorites are his solo numbers he penned himself. He pours out his guts like any great artist in his lyrics and on his fretboard, and it shows. This is one of my best purchases in years.

Threw me for a loop, though. Side A is 33 1/3 and side B is 45.

Does anyone know how common that is?

Nope, never heard of it. It's a funny but cruel trick to play on your listeners/fans.
