Stereolab is kind of difficult to describe. This particular record is one of my favorites from them. It incorporates many different elements and sounds very 60´s lounge pop to me but with the addition of synths (they incorporate a lot of electronic elements). It´s very upbeat compared to some of their other records. Each record is very different and that reflects their talent and musicality.

All this jazz talk make me happy. I think I'm going to go out and see what I can find.

Here is a very interesting take on jazz by Brubeck. I haven't heard many that implement hints of Asian sound in their jazz. Pretty good!

Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery-Jimmy & Wes The Dynamic Duo

Wes is one of my favorite guitarists-so fluid and he creates an amazing tone.

Back to Bogalusa. Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown is a below average singer but such an accomplished musician (guitar, fiddle etc, etc,) that listening to his singing is worth it to get the music behind it. His style is a fusion of Blues and R&B. This album has a truly outstanding professional blues band backing him up.
