Not a party album (unless you play 'Happy Trails' as you're kickin' everyone's ass out the house) but a great live album recorded mostly at the Fillmore(s).

Listening to this one and what an awesome album. Thanx for the post citizen arcane !smile.gif

Yeah, grew up with this one; wore the grooves off a few LPs and burned through a few 8 tracks as well biggrin.gif

I posted a few live releases then but my absolute favorites are Humble Pie and Lou Reed's 'Rock And Roll Animal'. - Allman Bros. ain't too shabby.

I heard Purple Haze in the basement of my cousins home on a summer Sunday in 67, I was a grade school kid. I could not believe someone could make sounds like that. Then I saw the album cover and knew whatever this was, I belonged. The next day I cut school and took a bus to the city to but the album.
Nothing was ever the same again. wink.gif

A few years later I was listening to Zeppelin one, looked at my friend and said, this music tastes delicious. I guess somehow I had confused what I heard with my taste buds. eek.gif

These were the two most powerful listening "experiences" of my life.

The first LP I ever bought was "Introducing the Beatles" on the Vee Jay label.

The first 45 I ever owned was given to me on my 9th birthday, Rambling Rose by Nat King Cole.

The first 45 I bought was 'Hang On Sloopy' prolly '65. I had a spindle full of singles I would buy w/ my allowance until '67 when I saved more for albums smile.gif It helped to have an older brother who was in tune and parents who also played lots of music on their console stereo (including NKC). They bought my first true 'stereo' for me the next year - I guess they got tired of my 'hippie music' in the LR.

Good memories all.........thanks for bringing them back.
