Need Advice on room size

I'm looking for a new house & went to a few Open Houses today. I think I found a great house but I thought I'd check with the experts 1st. It's a finished basement with a room that would work as a theater. It's 25.5' long x 19.5' wide with 7.5' suspended ceiling. It seems really huge. There is one support pole approx. 6' from the right side wall and 14' back from the front.I could live with this but thought I'd get advice on the size. I should add that it's next to a halfway open staircase and it's open to the opposite side of the basement.

Thanks for any help,
Ken

That's plenty big. I would check to see if you can replace the suspended ceiling with a real ceiling.

I agree, what's above the suspended ceiling ? It would be nice to get more height if possible.

I pushed some of the 2'x2' tiles up to get a better look but it was hard to see. No insulation anyway, but I thought it would be easier to run speaker wire or any other electrical cable I might need. I think at best, the ceiling height could go to 8' but I'm not sure if anything would interfere. I can't remember if any ducts were in this room.
