SA8300, Time Warner, 1-min. offset, and truncated recordings

I'm in Austin, TX, subscribed to Time Warner, using an SA8300. I have a consistent problem across all TV shows on all channels, in which the recording seems to start about 30 seconds to a minute early, and ends thirty seconds to a minute early. What this amounts to is that it starts recording during the credits of the show previous to the one I want to record, and ends recording during the credits of the recorded show -- or worse, a minute from the very end.

Is there anything I can do about this, short of taking it up with Time Warner? Is there a way to adjust recording times in advance (i.e. not when the thing is actually recording)? Any recommended workarounds would be great.

if i recall, selecting record show/series *with options* gives you a few choices you can change, including 'original start time' and end - you could tell it +/- 1 min at a time..... sounds like you would want to leave the start time or add a minute and add a minute or two to the end. hope it works.

I almost always end up putting a 1 minute lead, and a 2 minute after on my series recording. Just in case.

Time Warner in the midwest..
