eD A6-6T6 Towers

Thread Starter
Hey there forum members. I was wondering if any of you guys have had any experience with theses speakers or eD's tower or surround sound speakers before. I know that the subwoofers are great, but what about there tower speakers? These tower speakers run for 500 bucks for the pair. So, are they worth it? or is it better off buying different tower speakers from another company?

There is a lot of discussion about this in the Official eD speaker forum. People seem to like them in general. I have a pair on delivery now. I have a 6t6 mtm center channel that is pretty good. I would like it to have slightly more treble though.

They don't even disclose the material used in the midrange drivers. I would not buy these speakers.

That really bothered me also. Many others specs commonly posted by other companies are also not disclosed. Along with the fact they advertise free shipping but if you don't like that them you are then responsible for shipping costs both ways. Someone please correct me if I''m wrong.

Poly.

All one has to do is ask. I'll try to get another category on the site made for cone material. I didn't even realize it wasn't up there.

Also, we try to offer the best price for customers that actually keep the goods. We could definitely increase the costs of everything to account for the <1% of people so far that have returned the speakers because they don't like them but that really isn't fair to the >99% of other customers. Shipping on a pair of 55 pound towers isn't just something that we can eat, especially when the item is no longer new as well.

And after much anger at the php files, midrange material is a listed spec.

Hi Chris,

Would it be possible to post the crossover points? Also, how would having the shipping cost as separate charge affect the total cost of the speaker?

Honestly, as it currently sits, that would make our system die. We don't have a way of splitting one item into two packages. Shipping a tower pair as a single 110 pound package would end up as a customer paying far too much to buy them and they'd never leave here since shipping on a pair would be far greater than $100 due to oversize shipping fees etc.

I don't actually have the crossover points on my computer, I'll try to get those though.

Sorry I don't quite understand and won't belabor this point after this post but why would you have to change the shipping method from 2 separate boxes to one just because the shipping charge is separate from the item?

Trying to put together a new HT/music system. Considering the 6t6 towers and matching center. I do need to have wifey's approval. Showed her the pics on the website, and quite honestly they stick. Any one out there that owns these badboys, (or perhaps Chris), have some better pictures? I'll post on the ed owners thread as well. Thanks

They're sold as a pair on the site.

One pair weighs 110 pounds.

Our software sees the item as 1 box, weighing 110 pounds.

The shipping charged on a single 110 pound box is far greater than that charged on a pair of 55 pound boxes.

Past 70 pounds in one box, shipping companies start charging insane per pound rates.

As an example, 50208 to 10108(For some reason the Stick Stickley song from Nickelodeon is stuck in my head...write to me, Stick Stickley, PO Box 963, New York City, New York State, 10108...that's probably 14~18 years old) shipping on 2 55 pound boxes is $40.80 + applicable fuel surcharges etc.

Change that to the single 110 pound box our software would see at checkout and somehow FedEx's web site is coming out at $41.83 + surcharges....This is new. Maybe our rates on oversized are more competitive now due to the # of subs we're shipping because that is definitely not the same as our old massive package rate. Time to call our rep.

Check the eD owners thread here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=924325. I know it's long, but there are definitely pictures in there.
