Do you use Game Mode on your HDTV?

Ive been debating on whether Game Mode on my Samsung HDTV really makes a Differnce. It makes things darker, but it kinda looks off a bit. Does Game Mode on TVs make a Game look better or Worse

I've got no complaints with my Sony HDTV Game Mode.

I have a Sony and use it. I don't know how Samsung does it, but for Sony the default seems to be to dim in dark scenes, turning on Game Mode stops that. I turned it on because of movie credits and it might affect a dark area in a video game.

I use game mode on my Samsung and everything looks great. Never had a problem.

I turned mine off. Maybe somene can chime in as to what makes it better with it on, but I noticed on my sammy DLP and LCD that it made the colors a little less vibrant. Id really like to hear the pros and cons of it though.

The idea is to skip all the processing possible in the tv. So, your picture isn't going to looks as good, but you're doing that to reduce/eliminate lag.

So, if you have lag or notice it, turning on gaming mode may eliminate it. That's all.

Turning on game mode had the opposite effect on my sammy...much more vibrant colors. No noticeable difference when it comes to "lag."

I think it's safe to assume your tv's processing of the signal is making the color more dull. If that's the case, no reason to ever turn game mode off. Or, perhaps it needs to be calibrated better with game mode off.

I use Game Mode on my 46 Samsung DLP - it looks good - no lag noticed.

I've got a Sony and had it calibrated for each input source so I never use it. Otherwise I might have given it a shot.

I always use Game Mode on my Samsung 1080p LCD (4665F) and works great -- I've never noticed any motion blur and the colors look great on VGA.

Seeing the Xbox 360 controller as the icon of the mode was reassuring

I didn't really see much difference on my Samsung with Game Mode on or off. Then again I probably wouldn't notice the difference if there was one.

I don't use it on my Sony SXRD. It makes the image slightly worse and isn't needed if one has manually disabled the image "enhancements" which add processing lag.

I have a Sam DLP and when I turn on game mode it automatically switches to my custom mode. Since my custom mode is my preferred viewing mode, it makes games look great.

However, I think the purpose of game mode is too speed of the TV's processor so there is not lag. For DLP sets, I hear it is important to use game mode.

I have the 360 connect to the VGA port. It doesn't help me at all. In fact, I think it is slightly worse so I have use it.

I have the same setup as properbostonian, and never noticed the lag until we started playing Rock Band. Timing was off on everything even after using the in-game calibration. Switched the TV to game mode- problem solved.

52" lcd here, I have game mode enabled to achieve a 4ms refresh rate, but I use "movie" for my a/v mode. I have often wondered if I used "pc" if it would make a big diff in colors

I didn't notice much difference in lag when using game mode vs the other presets.
