I'm wondering if anyone can help me out. I have been reading and driving all over tryiong to find a right receiver. I couldn't find anyone with a 94 set-up so I can compare the HT sound between. I was able to listen to a SR 7002 with some B=W speakers and then go elsewhere to hear the 92, Denon 2808ci and Yammie on Vienna Acoustics on the same tracks. My take on them was:
Yammie - Too much sound pushed straight up into your face.
Denon- very nice but I could hear the center being forced a little. It was bright, but not too bad.
Pio 92- filled the room very well with great sound but the dialogue was much more faint then the others. It almost felt like if I was listening at lower volume I would miss some.
The Marantz was very nice but it was a different soundtrack and location. So it was hard to compare to the rest.
I know the Marantz has the better history of SQ for music, and the Pio really filled the room. These are the last 2 I'm considering, with the Pio being a couple $100 cheaper. I guess I'm wondering has anyone else gotten the same impressions as I did or am I crazy? Right now I'm leaning towards the 7002 but is it worth the extra $$
