I was one of the people telling you to all sell your A1's because the update will never come, and I was wrong.
It will come, 1 1/2 years after their AV receivers had it but it will come. Having to wait another 9 months and pay $1100+ for an upgrade that the AVR-100 and 4311 have right now but, it will come. Personally, I am 100% happy I sold when I did, like I said I can buy it back now for a fraction of what I sold it for but, I wont because I LOVE the 4311 and how it sounds. Did any of you ever stop to consider what advances will be made in the next 9-10 months and that by the time they upgrade the A1's that something newer or better may already be in place? IMO, the flagship product should be at the cutting edge of the technology curve and not at the end of the technology cycle. It seems that even when you finally get the upgrade you will again be behind the latest technology. Congrats to those of you that waited, you now got what you asked for and its only 9 months away and over a grand to get it. |

I don't think any of us ever expected it would be free and most of us expected any sort of hardware upgrade would be $1k at a minimum.
As far as being behind the technology curve, I quite frankly don't care. After the upgrade, there isn't anything I can think of that I would really care about having added to the AVP anyway. But it's nice to see you can admit that you were wrong. Oh wait a minute, you're still claiming you were right. ![]() |

the thing to remember is that we havent been put on the bleeding/cutting edge in the mean time. look at the grief the 4311 are going through in the last few months. Its too be expected with new ground breaking stuff. we'll always be shielded with that.
I wouldnt imagine there wouldnt be the odd hickup with even an upgrade as cant think of all eventualities, but given the time line hopefully well thought through, not rushed in and all this stuff well debugged tried on tested on the lower models in the mean time ![]() |

I moved to the anniversary AVR-A100/ Emotiva XPA7:
sold my AVP to a forum member: I miss it but am enjoying the A100: I bought the Audyssey Pro kit and really like the way it sets up my system regrets? sometimes yes, sometimes no |

Either was under an NDA or the agreements were just completed.

a few blocks from I work. That would have been a real deal to go with the upgrade.
