Ok wait I just noticed something. The remote is non-universal? Does that mean it won't work with my harmony 890?

You can do it like you did, copy the shortcut of the link and post is as image.
Note: It's best to size your pics to around 600px width so it is easy to view and not irritating.

cjp4eva--- you can pay with cash, debit or credit card... just make sure you have your receipt within 30 days... and you can get the price difference if it goes any lower. Best luck to you!

Is the 4ms response time making any noticeable difference?

i see dead pixels
Dead pixels are pink/white usually.
that may be dust or something those dead spots are seen toward the bottom where the screen isnt. seems the same where the 2 are on the screen portion of the pic
post #128 of 23473
yeah was just thinking that, wanted to make sure it wasn't just me.
it's a small detail, but i haven't seen or read anything about it (unless i missed it) ....but how do you like the motion sensor inputs on the side?

just curious.

The more the handful of you guys provide us feedback the better we'll know about this tv.

@ CES one of the feature talked about (of all things) was this ENTERTAINMENT MODE which now has GAME, SPORTS, & CINEMA. This feature was showcased more than AMP believe it or not. I didn't even pay much attention to it but they were talking about how this modes are factory pre-calibrated and optimized and if they are then there is really no need to adjust anything except AMP and backlight. (Of course we all know that the source will still matter.)

It is all these new features and improvement that we would like to hear about. And you lucky new owners are our source at the moment.

..

First of all optimizing a setting for one kind of veiwing or another is just rediculous. IF they have unnessisarily locked my picture settings because they think they know what i like best they are wrong. Who do they think they are. Peoples screen preferances vary over an extreemly wide range. I understand that locking things like DNie or color spacing or dynamic contrast but color and sharpness come on how much VP does that suck up (none!!!)

yes but mostly on entertainment modes. Im not sure what they were thinking on this one. To make your TV run perfect you have one of 3 settings for your picture. Honestly it seems as if the pixels are faster than the VP on other modes so i cant really coment, meening there is lag and blur but i believe it is the VPs fault. On game mode say goodbuy to motion blur and the like.

Everyone knocked the for the issues with AMP and yet 90% of people were using it for non-AMP situations as well. Even with AMP off the 71 was the best looking LCD of all IMO so I'm sure this is going to look just as good or better. The real question is does AMP work while viewing Blu-Ray content for which it was designed?

This is a point blank statment. I use amp for gaming every day all day even on my 71 with games that didnt have crosshairs. DX said he played guitar hero which requires exact timing with no problems. In theory a perfectly working amp will only produce a .0333s lag time for a 30fps feed (btw this is one of the points of turning game mode on, turns all uncritical VP off for faster procesing of source feed). Human reaction time is around 0.2s-0.25s so you are claiming that that the lag time created by amp that dosnt even come within 20% of human reaction time is gonna make a difference. I really dont think so, never has with me, you must be super human.

well actualy you may be disapointed with amp on high and on cinema mode the amp behaves much the same as amp on high on the 71. However because someone actually did do a decent job detailing the cinema mode, the amps is just as effective but the crapy soap opera look has been deminished, which is a plus for me.
so when in any of those entertainment modes do the picture settings adjust to a different setting(ie you change stuff outside that mode but when switching to an e. mode they change) or do the settings you adjust just lock into place when in e.mode and you can not adjust?

Jesus this thread has been like a rollercoaster.

I'm kinda glad my 650 isn't delivered for another week - I'm thinking by then, all you (super)early adopters will have all the settings figured out and I'll be able to benefit from all your painful R&D.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but I actually really like how the 71 gives blu ray that soap opera "3d" feel. I was planning on this new 650, but should I stick with a 71? I am also a big gamer, so it sounds like the 650 maybe better for that.

im in the same boat, excep i dont own either yet. the good part about it is if i decide on the 71 it should be alot cheaper in the upcoming months. but if the 650's "3d feel" isnt too toned down i will be sold, i cant wait to hear more input on this subject.

Mikl1984 is that the info for the US model. If so it seems the 750 is far superior. 10bit for tthe 650 vs. a 16bit processor for the 750? Am i seeing this wrong? Can you elaborate a tad please. sorry if i am dence

It seems as if samsung did put a lesser processor in the 650 than the 750. Sence the algarithums are nearly perfect on the three entertainment modes, it seems to follow that on normal modes the reason the amp sucks is because the VP just cant keep up. If there is a 16 bit over a 10bit in the 750 this would probubly help matters considerably (This statement may be completely false, what do you think Mikl1984)

Yes, but you cannot adjust settings. So, when you watch BD, tv, etc., you cannot calibrate your tv. Not gonna work for most people.

LOL thank you so much for dealing with all my nonsence. This is hard to believe but i am for sure gonna take the 650 back.
I know that as far as the technology goes in all the 650s across the board, all will be comparable, but my question is....Does anyone know where you would gain the most benefit out of 1080p? Through the 40" or the 46"? I am stuck at the point where I would probably regret not getting the 46" later on, but for price purposes the 40" looks awefully tempting.
Okay I have the 71, but now I'm considering returning it because it is sitll in the return period. So I want to exchange it for the 650 of course. Manaburn would you exchange it for the 650 or should I just keep the 71?
