As far as off-axis PQ diminishment (or color distortion), that appears to be inherent LCD technology, with some manufacturers rating better than others.
There have been many educational posts about both of these topics over the last 50-100 pages
1) Regarding the bolded text, it is not true, see my posted pictures; I am in New York.↓
Rest of pictures at post #7048. My off-axis haze is blue rather than SEGA's purple.
2) RE: znutz
' assertion that there are confirmed
sets without purple haze--I'm not ready to sign off on that statement. I would like to see someone who is claiming to have NO PURPLE HAZE OFF AXIS post pictures at 45º in a completely dark room (like the one above), using znutz
' settings (or close) to show us this.
Notice, the room must be DARK or else you don't see it--like this↓:
If I see someone post near-black 45º shots in the dark, I will certainly try to exchange mine (17 days left), because I must admit I will not settle for haze if there are sets that don't have it. I just am not yet convinced there are sets that DON'T have it. Please, if you don't have it show us
! I want to know.
