Can I use any IR receiver with a PS3?

I'd like to use a IR reciever with my PS3 that is on a cord so I can move it to a better location. Can I use any IR receiver with my Harmony 880 and PS3?

If you can wait a few weeks the IR2BT will be out and that's would be the best pick for a ps3 IR solution. IR2BT will be an IR add on that would make you able to do everything you need. It will be a separate IR-BT station and won't need any physical USB connection if you use batteries. (you can connect it too) Your PS3 won't have an IR signal. The base will get the IR and send it BT to your PS3. Should be around 50-60$ a piece.

Hope this help.
