By the way, I would encourage everyone here who is a Comcast customer, or a customer of another cable company distributing this degraded signal to file a formal complaint with the media bureau of the FCC. This should get people's attention.
You can do it electronically here: https://esupport.fcc.gov/sform2000/n...uest_locale=en
I would recommend using form 2000E, but you can also use 2000A if you feel this is deceptive advertising. You can file an individual complaint on each HD channel being degraded if you like.
If a bunch of people do this, I guarantee you this will get people's attention. After doing this, when you talk to the local cable folks about this problem, mention that you are so irritated about this that you have filed a complaint with the FCC's media bureau.
Alternatively, call in a complaint at 1-888-CALL-FCC.
The chief of the Media Bureau is Monica Desai. You can call her office directly at (202) 418-7200, or email her at email@example.com
. You should file a complaint before calling her or emailing her, since she will probably ask you to do so anyway.
It would be good to file complaints against Cox and Charter and others as well, to get them to put additional pressure on Comcast to stop doing this at HITS.
Do not put up with this crap from Comcast. File a complaint. Get other subs you know who get degraded HD to file as well. We are not powerless here. We can shame them into fixing this sad state of affairs.
