Does anybody have any numbers yet on the converter box program? For example, have they sent out 10% of the number of coupons authorized, or hasn't that been released yet?

The current status of the coupon program is published here:
http://www.ntia.doc.gov/dtvcoupon/status.html

In its first phase, up to $990 million in coupons will be distributed. If that's used up, an additional $510 million will be available for OTA-only households. (see http://www.ntia.doc.gov/ntiahome/pre...ule_031207.htm)

As of today, one third of the initial $990 million has been spoken for.

I intentionally still have not ordered my coupons yet. I am one of the ones hoping that the http://www.dtvpal.com/ DTVPal will be available soon so I can order my coupons. It looks like they last updated the site April 21, 2008, so I am guessing that roughly one half of the initial $990 million has been spoken for, but I am just speculating. Without seeing a graph of the statistics by month, I am guessing that there was a big demand initially, but then the demand may have slowed the past couple of months. I would guess as we get closer to the February 2009 cut over the demand will increase.

There's been more speculation on the CECB thread and the present consensus seems be to that the first batch of 22 million will have been requested by sometime in August.

The page for stats has changed. It's no longer "daily" (not that it really was daily, but the pdf file said daily) -- now it is a weekly summary:
