It's fantastic. I played Terrorist Hunt for like 3 hours straight earlier (6-9pm) with some buddies and didn't even realize it had been that long. It's so much fun it's ridiculous. I LOVE the sprint button. It makes a HUGE difference and is very much appreciated. I still say this game has the best cover system ever devised.

My only complaints are:

No jump.
No melee.
No party system (which makes joining up with friends a real pain in the ass) like CoD4 or Halo 3.
Only 2-player coop for single player. I swear I read/heard somewhere you could play with 4 people. If that was the case (like Halo 3), this game would be even more incredible.

But seriously...apart from those things, I think this is the best game available right now. CoD4 is still great, but the lack of cover really breaks my balls. I think if R6 had the above issues fixed, it would easily be the greatest game ever made.

Agreed about sprint, it makes heavy armor viable in the face of grenades. I don't miss jumping, I find it unnecessary and is general never realistically implemented in games. Hoping around in combat situations is pretty much never benefical.

Lack of melee sucks, but mostly because the cover system is pretty flawed at oblique angles and close ranges (my only complaint with it). I wish switching to a pistol was faster so that I'm not stuck reloading (can't cancel the animation is another annoyance) and getting capped by a bad guy that just rushed me.

Love the addition of cover penetration! Although it still needs some work (I've had wood blocks block sniper rounds which pisses me off when sniping). I think it's an angle thing mostly.

Agreed that it is an overall improvement to the first one. Not really a different game, but improved in most respects. CoD4 I think is a better MP experience for run and gun though. Just IMO (mostly because of the lack of party system and crappy lobby). But if you are a hardcore mode only player, RB6V2 is a better experience IMO.

Terrorist hunts are HARD now. I like this.

Yes, by a pretty wide margin (rank 14 marksmen vs rank 7 assault at the moment). CQB is in the middle. It's those long range kills that do it and comparitively few assault points (shooting through cover is the most common since grenades are scarce in realistic).

Not being able to well control the distance they get chucked and where they go is a bit of a flaw too IMO. Overall everything is slower than it is in CoD4 (reloading hucking grenades, changing weapons, walking, etc.). But that's the way the game is, not so much of a rushing run and gun zerg fest.

Same here.

I played about 6 hours of strictly THunt (I love co-op gaming). My problem is that it seems they still didn't fix the ememies spawing behind/on top of/where you just were. AI enemies are still popping up where they really shouldn't.

It really seems to me like a 1.5 as opposed to a 2. Too many maps (for Thunt at least) are from R6V1.

I do really like the leveling system and it is fun (I wish co-op SP was 4 player) so I will continue to play it.

Halo 3 crushes it, IMO. Although I am a huge Halo fan so.......

Are those maps also from the XBox Rainbow game?
WOW, I am surprised they allowed this game to be released with so many issues. See this feedback thread at ubisoft. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/t...6/m/2861022246

That confirmed it for me. I will wait to buy until a huge patch is released.

I am pretty sure a couple are from older RS games as well. I remember the ones from RSV1 because it is fresh in my mind.

There are definitely issues in the game. Just about everytime we start a Thunt match there is loads of texture pop-in. Not a little, like the entire map. It sometimes looks like someone just turned the lights on. They will definitely need to release a patch.

I am hoping that the single player is good (even though co-op is only 2 players) otherwise the only reason to play is just to level up and unlock weapons. I do enjoy getting XP for different types of kills (through cover, explosive, headshot, long range, etc.).

+1 for hating the grenade throwing.

on the flip side, I love the new in game xp points.

Sadly, I don't see this taking me away for COD4. I was hoping it would be just as good as the first one, and im not feeling it yet. Then again, I have only spent 3 or 4 hours playing it. Maybe it needs to grow on me.

Gametrailers.com review is up. http://www.gametrailers.com/game/5848.html

Fantastic review.
I totally agreed with the guns feel "just right", and the gameplay is the strongest in console gaming.

i just want them to release the patch to clean up the problems. then i will buy.

i love the game(play) - but i also look forward to a patch to address some of the issues. still - even if it is rough around the edges - i think it is a quality title worth owning.

and i agree - that GT review was pretty much spot on.
Just got the game and have played for about 2 hrs or so on MP.

Pros: Love the feel of the guns and the pace of the game, graphics are better than the first but still not as good as COD4. Not much lag, like the XP system. Sprint is a plus.

Issues so far...#1 no kill cam #2 Spawn camping is still a big part of Team Deathmatch , need more spawn points #3 Not a huge fan of the lobby system

Wouldn't you think they may have fixed these things since they were an issue with the 1st game?
im pretty sure there is a kill-cam but the host has to turn it on.
very good game.

it is too bad about the only-2 coop though. my only complaint is that there's unlimited lives (like Halo3) which makes co-op too easy. at the least they should make it like GoW where one guy has to go to revive the other.

really like the sprint.

I don't think so.
there is absolutely a "kill cam" option...

MP lobby > match settings > advanced > kill cam

however i have no idea what it actually looks like in-game. i never host & have never seen it activated.

Correct.

(It's rarely turned on)

Really loving this game. The leveling up and unlocking new weapons/armor is addictive. Love the graphics, love the weapons. Excellent game!!!

So far have done story 3 times with friends helping them get through. Got the A.C.E.S. completed and Terroist Hunts completed. Have gotten a little used to MP but no liking it much.
I see 3 reasons here.
1. Little armor will let you move faster and with lag die less often unless shot while standing still or blown up.
2. Heavy armor is working so lag is making it harder to kill.
3. Neither really matter since lag effects MP so much.

Will continue to play for awhile but COD4 is probably going to taking its place shortly.

I love the MP5N so much. It's just such a solid weapon. I try and switch things up and use something different every now and then, but always come back to the trusty ol' MP5N.

Haven't played in a few days though...been a crazy weekend and all of my freetime has been spent in Oblivion as I achievement-whore the crap out of the GotY version so I can get a sizable lead over my cousin.

That has been my experience with MP so far. TH doesn't have this issue. Lag > all in MP. Oh and frag grenades > lag > armor.

Oh and TDM is a spawn camping cluster-F. Only 1 space place per team? Gawd.
So far SP is good. The checkpoints are much better than the first and I really like the sprint option.
Yes, sprint option makes armor feasible now.

Fav wep combos in the campaign and in TH?

Me:
Campaign
Auto shotty and sr-25

Solo TH
Auto shotty and 552 (red dot)

MP TH
552 (red dot)

Auto shotty seem a little nerfed, rate of fire is down as is range.

I use the SR-25, the 500 Tactical, and the Glock 18. That seems to be the best balance. The sniper is great at medium to long range, the shotty for close range and the pistol with full auto fills in the gaps.
count me in as a glock 18 fan too; full auto pistols ftw

and snap in that high capacity magazine and that thing just gets better.

Having trouble in the game. I believe it is act 4 or 5 where you have to disarm a bomb (it is right after you hack the computer in that small room and while he is hacking it guys come in down the hallway and you can get on the turret right that is right there in the small computer room and kill everyone in the hallway while he hacks the computer). After you hack it you make your way through a couple doors and get to the bomb area where you are at the top and there are catwalks everywhere. My guys say we should go in silent because we don't want them prematurely arming the bomb. so I equip the silencer. When I open the door there is a guy on the catwalk in front of me. I shoot him, no problem. I creep out (in crouch mode) and take down a guy on the floor down below. Soon as I do the beep starts and it gets faster and faster. The bottom area gets flooded with bad guys one after the other. I can't kill them all fast enough. The bomb beeps faster and faster. If I repel down I get owned instantly because there are so many people on the ground now. Not sure what to do.

Is anyone having real trouble making the transition to this game after playing COD4? I played the story (and beat it in a couple of days) on realistic. Which was a lot of fun and enjoyable, but after going to multiplayer, I'm just having a problem of enjoying it. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved multiplayer in the first iteration of RB6V, but after playing COD4 basically every day since Nov., I just can't get back into the slower style of RB6V2. I don't know if it's because my skills haven't came back yet, or if I don't know the maps, the lobby system, etc, etc.

I'm doing everything I can not to throw COD4 back in the 360. I'll give RB6V2 a few more days to see if I can get into it some more. Just wondering if there were any others out there like me
