So, back from the dead and feeling much better today. I really don't know what I was thinking on Friday. I'm turning 30 in 2 weeks, and on Friday, I tried to party like I was 21.
Due to the lost day, I only got some of my list done. I set up the trusty old X1 on a box of green glue and hung my da-lite 105" screen. All told, I don't think I'm going to have any issue with the throw from my current projector. Maybe I'll reconsider when it's time to upgrade. I showed the WIF-to-be and she made a comment like: "Is that it??? We need a bigger screen. Otherwise we might as well be watching TV upstairs."
Of course I planted the seed for a new 1080p projector
-Purchased insulation and "old work" wall light boxes (that's right, I'm going with scones)
-Finished installing conduit
-Installed conduit box
-Installed 3 new work elec boxes for:
All are going to be on the same "equipment" circuit.
Next I made a stage as the first step in a screen wall. I stole a lot of ideas from BigmouthinDC's build, but mine isn't going to look anything near the quality of his. All told, it was a productive day.
Tomorrow I need to do the following:
-Run romex for "equipment circuit" (sub +eq closet +projector)
-Run romex for rope-light sub-circuit
-Cut plywood for stage
-"frame" back of equipment closet under the stairs
-Install insulation (if I have time)
-Schedule electrical inspection
Oh yeah... Two kinda funny things happened today...
1) WIF-to-be accidentally shut the kitten in the fridge for about 3 mins. Wow, was he glad to see us when we opened it up!
2) I had a close call with the miter saw. I was cutting a small piece of wood when I hit a knot. The piece shot out of the saw across the room. Shrapnel hit me in the chest, neck, and forehead. Forehead hit was about 1" from my eye. I'm never, EVER, using a saw without safety glasses again!
