What # were you? I'm curious how many more they have to go before they will start taking orders again.
I just got mine yesterday, #1247. No problems at all getting it paired and working with my Harmony 880, but I think I will need to remap some controls, I don't care for having the OK button bring up the bitrate meter and timer display.

I was order #1155, and it arrived yesterday. It really works well. I only changed a few buttons on my Harmony 670. The main thing I changed was the ok button to the x command. The default is select.

Do the order numbers go consecutive?

I believe they do. There is a FAQ on the website which states when certain orders ought to be shipped. They ship from Florida I think so it may take longer to arrive depending on where you live.

So I can use my 880 with the Nykos by going to Logitecs website? Where would I find it?
I believe the Nyko is listed as a piece of equipment in the Logitech database.

Read through THIS thread.

More for sale, next week. I have a feeling that this will fill the need for the "hard core" consumer.
More specifically, my guess is that this will not be a "sold out in 12 hours" situation.

Hope the ebayers enjoyed it while it lasted.

I signed up for their Email alerts almost 3 months ago on my personal email account.

Never heard a peep (and I have checked my spam).

Signed up again 6 weeks ago using my work Email (wouldn't let me use my personal email again) and have still never received any notification.

they haven't really been out for the last 3 months have they? The last 6 weeks?

Either way, I'm hoping to order one next week (guess I'll have to check their site every day). Just frustrating that I maybe could have already had the product.

They have a news bulletin they keep updated on the front page of their retail site, and a news section in the IR2BT Forum they run.

The latest news, as of 6/26/08, is that they expect to put 1000 units up for sale early this week. If they work it like last time (about 6 weeks ago), the email alert will go out about 24 hours prior to when they put them up for sale. But they also update the news bulletin on their site at the same time and with the same information. So keep an eye out for a change over the next couple days and you won't be dependent on the email.

Also, as I recall, when you sign up for their email alert they send you a confirmation that you are on the list. I can't recall if you have to do something to confirm you really do want to be on the list before that really takes effect, but in any event if you don't get that confirmation email shortly after you sign onto the list, then something didn't get set up right.

Yes, saw the announcement today. Just wish I would have seen it 6 weeks ago instead of depending on the Email (by the time I read it here, they were already sold out - hence the second Email address).

I don't remember if I got a confirmation Email on either one and once an Email address is registered, you can't register again.

Oh well, hopefully they won't run out so fast this time.

You may want to try and unsubscribe here and then subscribe again here and see if that works....

Thanks Wizard, I actually thought of that last night and did it.

After receiving the confirmation Email that I had to reply to, I remembered getting that the first time too (and replying). Maybe I'll have better luck this time.

For those worried about missing out on the next batch of IR2BT gadgets, the following just arrived from their mailing list:

Quote:

Assuming there are no delays in production, at 3:00pm ET tomorrow (Wednesday, July 2) I will be placing 1000 units in the online order system. The online ordering system is the only way to place your order and is at www.ir2bt.com/cart or simply click on the shopping cart icon from our main web page.

NOTE: You are placing a PRE-ORDER. Keep in mind:
1. You will be charged as soon as the order is placed.
2. We plan to ship at least 50 units per day starting Monday, July 7th so your order might not ship for up to 4 weeks depending on your place in the queue.
3. The order system sends out an update email when your items ship - there is no need to ask if your order has shipped.

Please do not place a pre-order unless you understand and agree to all of the above.

Payment: All payments are processed through PayPal. A PayPal account is NOT required. They accept many payment options including all major credit cards.
Forum: Please visit the User Support Forum at www.ir2bt.com/forum for IR2BT news and information.
Shipping: All orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. Details are at http://www.ir2bt.com/cart/index.php?...e=shippinginfo

Please remove your name from this distribution list if you no longer need to receive these notices. Details are shown below.

Thanks for your continued interest and support.

its pretty funny that I finally got that notification after all this time...too bad now its too late since I already bought another product.
Thanks for the update...I'm very excited and glad I checked this thread when I did.

Can anyone confirm what the exact cost plus shipping will be? I looked around on the site but didn't find it...it's totally possible that I looked right it and didn't see it (it happens as you age)
As I recall, figure about an additional $8 or so for shipping.

WARNING: There appears to be a significant problem getting the IR2BT to work properly with the new PS3 V2.40 software!

Email just came in from Bruce:

Quote:

Due to a problem between the IR2BT and Sony's new 2.40 PS3 firmware, the new round of sales for the IR2BT will NOT happen today as originally planned.
Information on the problem is available here - http://www.ir2bt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=185

We'll be looking at the issue and want to make sure we have a fix before we open up for sales again.

We will send out another bulk email to this list when a new sales date has been set.

Considering there are a number of gyrations you have to go through to actually upgrade (download the update, agree to one EULA, agree to a second EULA, install the update), I wouldn't worry too much about it. Unless you want to get rid of the nagging thing in the corner of the screen.

If you turn off "auto-login" to the playstation network, you will not get the 2.40 nag screen.

I can still use my box as a media center, and there is no danger of my IR2BT going caput.

Of course, this probably will not work for online gamers, or people who "need" to download the 15 outdated movie trailers sony keeps on the store

Disable auto login to the store

Wow. This is a problem. Don't see how you plan on not updating your system ever again...

There is no way Sony will make any effort to "fix" this problem, and current owners can't download an IR2BT fix to their device. So, even if the problem is fixed, current owners will likely be out of luck. Even if they do get a "fix" for the next batch of sales, this could happen again in 6 months.

Nope, I'll just make due with the Nyko remote. Maybe Sony is coming out with it's own official gizmo that will fix the problem once and for all.

Boy I'm glad I didn't flush $55 ordering this thing today...

I have a supreme sense of self control

Seriously, my solution is just a short (6 month?) term fix.
Everything on my PS3 works great with respect to movie viewing. Only thing that would make me want to upgrade it is bitstream support, and I hear that is impossible with the current PS3.

Maybe 6 months from now, there may be a movie that does not play right without a firmware fix. Will cross that bridge when I get to it. And that assumes I will actually want to watch the movie (please let it not be IronMan)

This is really weird. I started to panic when I saw that 2.40 seemed to disable the IR2BT after initial power on, but I just turned on my PS3 and controlled it with my Harmony 880 without any issues. I updated my stystem last week to 2.40 and I just logged on and it says I have the latest version.

I turned my PS3 off with the Harmony and just turned it back on. It works like normal for me. I'm powering my IR2BT with my DirecTV HR20's USB port.

You have 2.36
2.40 has been pulled

- Sorry for the false hope. I thought 2.40 was last week's update. I checked my system information and I do indeed have 2.36.
