Exactly. Or we could be left with a 300-like release.

Love this movie.

And I think Hugo Weaving does an amazing job of portraying charisma THROUGH A MASK!!!

He was perfect for the role of V.

V for Vendetta is up for pre-order at Amazon now...

You must have watched the wrong films then, as they have had 4 great films. All 3 Matrix movies were excellent, and V for Vendetta was just down right amazing. It was the best movie of 2006.

Anyway, I own this movie on DVD, HD-DVD, and I cannot wait to get it on Blu-Ray. I see no reason to change the codec as the movie already looked flawless on HD-DVD.

"VoilÃ*! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

Amen to that.

When I first saw the previews for this film I thought it would be kind of corny but Weaving is indeed fantastic and that voice of his is incredible!

It's also up on the WB site for those who want to use a coupon.

For some strange reason, people hate the second and third Matrix films. I thought they were great.

+1. It follows the story of Jesus to a tee to the end. People love him. But as soon as Neo flies people act like Robocop just put on another jet pack.
Plus there's a whole chunck of Reloaded that's jaw dropping. It starts when Neo holds off The Merovingian's men at the Chateau and ends when the 18 wheelers collide. Revolutions manages to emulate Star Wars(attack on zion), DBZ(the final fight), and the first Matrix(Coat Check).

What do I do with my HD-DVD copy?
NVM- there's going for like $12 on ebay. Just enough for me to get the BD.
It is hard to believe that WB would release this title on BD without the TrueHD track on the HD-DVD. The TrueHD track on the HD DVD is excellent.

One of the truely best lines in any movie I have seen

I wonder how long it took just to come up with, are there any other 'V' words int he dictionary?

It better have the TrueHD track plus the IME or a LOT of people are going to be wondering what took so long.

It's called opinion, and these forums are filled with them

Anyway, I am the biggest Matrix fan you'll ever meet; however, you can't honestly say that reloaded and revolutions were as good as the first. The simple things they did, such as Neo wearing a cool black trench coat in the first and then he's wearing some stupid half-coat/half-priest outfit in the final two. I know all of the films were filmed withing a 5-year span continuously, but the first just had a different feel than the other 2.

As far as V, this movie just wasn't that good. Whatever - to each his own, I guess.

Speedracer, on the other hand, looks pretty cool from all the HD trailers I've seen. I will hold judgment until I see the movie, of course.....

Finally.

Great movie, but worth the purchase just for Julie London's rendition of "Cry Me A River."

Sorry, but I find Reloaded to be the best of them. It just has so much better action and expanded on an already great story. Plus the car chase scene and the fight against the Smiths were just down right awesome.

As for V, have you ever read the comic?
The car chase scene in Reloaded was easily outperformed by the highway sequence in The Island by our king of style "Michael Bay".

Nope, never read the comic. I bet I would have liked the movie more if I had

As far as reloaded, the special effects were top-notch. I just think the first matrix was "special" in that I had no idea what the movie was about (or who was in it) and I went to see it in the theater. Needless to say, I walked out of the theater absolutely awed! I hadn't been that mezmorized by a sci-fi movie in a loooong time.

In other words,I guess I was expecting too much from the 2nd and 3rd installments of the Matrix series.....

Great movie. Bought it in SD and HD DVD. It's one of the few that I may duplicate in BD.

I have to chime in here. The CGI in Reloaded was some of worst most obviously fake effects I have ever seen in my life. Usually it takes a few years, or even a decade to notice how bad effects stand the test of time. But with Reloaded, it only took the first viewing in the theater on opening night. The fight with the 100 Smiths looked like a Playstation 2 cut scene. An admirable attempt but it was embarrassing to watch.

V for Vendetta is far superior to The Matrix sequels. No contest. And I am very excited to watch it in Blu-ray with my Playstaion 3.
Umm, I also like Reloaded better than the first Matrix, but, that was because The Matrix was the second Wachowski I had seen, that being their first, and best Bound.
This is certainly good news as I've been waiting for this on blu-ray. Just wonder how there newest one will turn out.

I would take "all the goodies found on the HD DVD version" to mean the audio track as well. Just my take on it.

Ugh. As a big Alan Moore fan, that piece of dialogue had me cringing in the theatre.

More than just Jesus. There's bits from just about every major religion and philosophy in there, including Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, several animist beliefs, and plenty more. And that's on top of the Judeo-Christian metaphors like purgatory (the train station) and hell (the Merovingian's club).

(At press time, Warner had not announced any high-res audio options for 'V for Vendetta,' but we'll keep you updated as any additional specs are confirmed.)

But it's good to know that the IME will be preserved.

One of Warner's most eagerly-anticipated "catch-up " titles, 'V for Vendetta' will make its Blu-ray debut in late May.

Originally released on HD DVD back in October 2006 (read our review), 'V for Vendetta' is one of a handful of high-profile Warner titles that were previously held back from Blu-ray release due to the format's then-inability to support the studio's "In-Movie Experience" picture-in-picture commentary feature.

Finally set for release on May 20, the Blu-ray version of the cult hit will include all of the previous HD DVD's supplemental content, including an In-Movie Experience exclusive picture-in-picture commentary (Profile 1.1-enabled), along with a suite of four making-of featurettes ("Designing the Near Future," "Remember, Remember: The Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot," "England Prevails: V for Vendetta," "New Wave of Comics"), a 'Saturday Night Live' digital short, "Cat Power" montage, and theatrical trailers.

Announced tech specs feature 1080p/VC-1 video (2.35:1) and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround audio. (At press time, Warner had not announced any high-res audio options for 'V for Vendetta,' but we'll keep you updated as any additional specs are confirmed.)

Suggested retail for the Blu-ray has been set at $28.95.

So I guess we have to wait and see regarding TrueHD.

Same here, although I don't know who Alan Moore is and I didn't watch in the theatre. But yes, I loved the dialogue in this movie yet did not like that piece at all.
