Thanks. Yes, I've heard that, so I'm imagining he's running it directly through his computer. My question, more succinctly, is that all info I've gathered and read is that sd upscaling is "optimized" through the Reon chip in an XA2, or, better yet, through the Oppo 983HD (pretty much unequivocally the best upscaler).
My point is (or question), if neither of those chipsets/scalers are utilized (assuming Xylon is not using one of those machines) for sd...how can pq be optimized
Not trying to nitpick, but I have looked at many of Xylon's comparison's, and virtually all of them have substantial pq differences. I just want to ascertain (empirical evidence), for my own piece of mind, that the Oppo would not yield better sd results (assuming he is not using the Oppo). Screen grabs relates only to unnecessary noise/processing/lighting etc. w/ a camera. It does not clarify they chipset/scaler utilized.
Finally, this has just become less important for me as I finally (last week) broke down and bought a BD player (to join my 4 HD players). Thanks, John
