Samsung BD-UP5000 No auto 24FPS?

I am wondering why the up5000 does not have auto select for 24FPS discs. You have to manually select it in the setup menu. My HD-A1 has a auto select for film or video, and the Sony 300 had it. When set for 24 I played a disc that was probably video based & playback was jumpy.

From what I read, Samsung BD-UP5000 will auto switch depends on whether or not you're playing film or video (or SD DVD) if you have 24FPS selected.

Yes. You enable 24hz in the setup menu, and if you play content that can't run at 24hz the BD-UP5000 automatically switches itself to 60hz, and automatically back again when possible.

Mine's also a December build and has no issues beyond those that everyone has, so I wouldn't worry about it.

There are many things can cause this. First, what is your BD movie? Second, does your TV support 1080p24 or not?

Dec/2007 build date is fine.

So, did you enable 24 fps mode in setup and confirm you can see the confirmation messagebox on your TV?

Reports are there are some movies that have incorrect flag, or the player simply read the flag wrong, will cause the player to drop out of 24fps mode. So are all the SD DVDs.

If you have it connected through an AVR then that could also be the issue....Many have had this happen when they turned on the compenets in the "wrong" order.

hi guys

i have a pioneer pdp-508xg (australian/new zealand/asia pacific spec) with samsung bd-up5000. somehow everytime i switched my 5000 to 24fps, the screen went blank for a minute or so, and back on again with the 24fps back to OFF. it outputs 1080p but not 1080p/24fps. the signal from my 5000 goes through onkyo 906 before my panel. i have tried every settings on my 5000, plasma and onkyo, to no luck so far.

i also have an lg bh200, which outputs 24fps just fine through the onkyo and panel.

have tried many discs to no luck.

have tried to switch the panel first and last and made no difference.

advise / ideas / suggestions ?

thanks.
