AV123 Rocks...I love these speakers...Wow.

AV123 is awesome. Great customer service, fast shipping, and the speakers were packaged like they were going to be dropped from a 2 story building. I ordered a pair of X-MTM Towers, and the X-CS Center Channel. My MFW-15 Sub is still waiting to be delivered. I'll eventually cough up some cash for rear surrounds. I ordered everything in the Cherry Satin finish, and all I can say is beautiful. After lugging the giant boxes into my house, and unpacking everything, I was astonished by the beautiful finish. Honestly guys, if you're looking for a speaker truely different than your typical black, look no further for a value speaker that looks as good as this one. Aesthetics were extremely important and these definitely fit the budget.

I have not hooked these up, so I have no clue how they perform yet. Just wanted to give my initial impressions. Hopefully everything sounds as good as it looks!!

As I'm considering purchasing the near identical setup, I would love to hear your listening impressions.

It sounds like these speakers are SO AWESOME that you don't even need an amp or anything to enjoy them! Just enjoy the nice boxes and lovely wood finish. A little polish and a real soft cloth, and you can just lovingly caress them. Just be sure to pull your pants up when you hear you Mom walking down the hall toward your room.

Wow, way to dump on the OPs enthusiasim! I hope he's as happy after he actually gets to hear them, but meanwhile why not let him enjoy his new purchase?

Well they are ported.......

As a former X-LS and Rockets owner, I have to agree. The aesthetics is top notch especially the Rockets. The value is off the charts especially X series. Danny Richie has a signature sound that I appreciate too.

Jmass,

I am glad that you finally found your speakers. I hope you enjoy them. I remember how torn you were on finding the right speaker for you and how worried you were about the shipping cost on AV123's speakers. Congrats.

Openwheelracing,

I remember reading your threads about the Rockets. So why did you decide to part ways with them?

Thanks douche. As my other threads say I just haven't had time to hook everything up.

For the other posters, I'll be sure to get a review of everything once I have everything hooked up and I'll be sure to post pictures. Thanks!!

I'm thinking about getting an identical setup (though in black), my only concerns are:
1) I'm in an apartment building, so the MFW with the MTMs might upset the neighbors.
2) The depth of the center channel, I'm not sure it'll fit with my tv where it would have to be.

Once you've had enough time to have a good impression on the sound, would you mind commenting on the bass sound as it is now without the MFW; and post some pictures of the setup?

Oh, and I hope you continue to enjoy it as much as your first impressions.

Congrats on the purchase. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a similar set-up. Can't decided if I want to do the the X-MTMs or spring for the Rocket 450s though.

Did you jump on the deal AV123 was running on the Classics or did you get the new Encores?

Let us know how you like them after you get it hooked up!!!

Hey, sorry man. I had no idea this wasn't an April Fools joke. I figured it had to be, because you nailed it with saying they Rock then saying you hadn't hooked them up yet.

I guess you missed it, there's been a new AV123 thread here every day, each one more unbelievable than the last, with all kinds of clueless people posting thinking they were helping AV123 when all they were doing is keeping the threads ragging on AV123 at the top of the forum. D'oh! It's like, the only way they would get a clue is if there was a 10% gift card discount and a six month wait, or something. Then they'd buy a whole bunch.

And then somebody would post "I haven't read this whole thread but I know that ... " then they'd say something that the President of the company had already given a different answer to. OK, so great you posted that, pal!

I didn't realize this was for real, I guess you missed the trend and just bad luck to post on April 1 after all the dumba55 threads about AV123. Enjoy the speakers man!!!!

Ouch, double-reversed on April Fools Day!

I like how there are people on here who make it their mission to dump on AV123...and they have NO idea what they are talking about.

As usual, those with the least amount to say end up talking the most.

Glad you're enjoying the "first part"... I'm hopeful that the "result" pleases you as much...

Looking forward to your listening experiences...

Thanks again...

All the best...

Wow the price of the x-series has really gone up!

I am looking for 3 front speakers for the bedroom system, and saw the review of the x-ls and x-cs in the July 2007 issue of Home Theater. It has photos of the White Shadow Maple which we really like, and we both love the double oval grills.

So I went to the web-site all set to order these, and it turns out that:

- both of these are discontinued and replaced by the encore versions,
- which no longer has the White Shadow Maple finish, but something called Moho Satin at an additional cost, which looks different,
- the double oval grills are no longer offered,
- and the price of the x-ls has jumped from $219 (as listed in the magazine) to $349 for the Moho, an increase of 60%,
- the x-cs has jumped from $139 to $249, an increase of 79%.

There is also shipping on top of it. I think I am going to go Axiom. For example their VP100 v2 center chanel is $250, the same price as the x-cs, but it has free shipping, and being in Canada, I won't have to worry about customs.

Now I just have to convince my wife, who had her mind set on the photos in that magazine.

1) That's what the volume control is for, you can upset your neighbors with any setup especially with a sub good or bad.

2) Legit Concern, time to do some measuring.

Yeah, I am going to have to cross my fingers for a big sale now .

It's just about 4 weeks since the OP got them. So, have you managed to hook them up yet?

Hey buddy...
I just search for the type of item in google ("this thread is worthless without pics.gif" or .jpeg) and then copy the image location of said image and paste it as a picture like this.

.gif is for moving type images and .jpeg is still images

and now back to your regularly scheduled channel....

Good question Chu. Whatever happened to the OP on this thread. You'd think we'd have heard something by now!

Hello Steve...

YES... the prices have gone up... we know...

There are several issues at play here... First, we upgraded the tweeters and the crossovers... (not insignificant money - a good part of this)... but as well, we have had issues to deal with given the dollar's plight on the world market...

In China we have lost SIGNIFICANT advantages with the RMB moving from the peg at 8.1 to the more recent 6.9...

As well - here in Colombia (where I am at the moment) we have seen the dollar fall from 2380 Pesos to the 1750-ish we are dealing with today...

We've had to adjust - and we will have to do so again pretty soon...

On a positive note... our speakers sound quite good and are finished like products costing many times more...

Please accept my apologies for these increases...

All the best...

mls
