You know what? I HAVE one of those and didn't even think about using it. I THOUGHT about using my Rotozip, but I 'm terrible with it and I couldn't fit in to make the cut using it anyway, so I went with the keyhole saw.


With the right cutoff blade, it should work fine.

We didn't complete everything over the weekend so I'm going to hold the update until we do. Right now, we're talking Thursday evening. POSSIBLY not until Saturday.

Apparently, we have some grasshoppers.

You see, in Dimension X the ending IS the beginning and the beginning IS the ending. There is no "time" as we know it. Only movement through space, which is non-linear. You can move forward, backward, sideways and up and down, although that is beyond human comprehension.

Make that, you haven't been LOGANED until TODAY.

OK, fans....BIG update!

Two weeks ago, I got a little something delivered....


OK, FOUR somethings....


Then a couple of days later I had THIS delivered....


So I cleared out the theater area


My buddy Mike, Max and I started to install the carpet....


A couple of hours later and the floor was done and we gave up for the day.


Then last week I had THESE delivered...


Mike came back to carpet the stage. Notice who is working and who is supervising.


And ALL the carpet is done!


So, first things first....
Haul those chairs down there and set them up!


Temp hang my deck screen and set up the Axiom M60s...


And finally, you guessed it....HANG THE PROJECTOR!


So, there was nothing left to do except set up my little receiver form the deck and the upconverting DVD player and fire up that puppy!

One word....
AWESOME.

Even with only DD5.1 and DVD, AWESOME. I played the beach scene from Saving Private Ryan and the Aliens rising from the street from War of the Worlds. Floor and seats shaking and I don't have the ButtKickers setup yet. Most importantly, LOGANESS says she only hears what sounds like distant thunder. Nothinhg else.

So even with the open concept, all the "soundproofing" and treatments have paid off. I am, to say the least, stoked.

I am EXTREMELY pleased with the carpet and the install Mike did for me. He used to do it for a living, so he knows what he's doing.

By the way, I got the carpet from Ken at Stargate Cinema. You all should know him as he's a great contributor. He was great to work with and the carpet arrived exactly as ordered and on time. The carpet is made By Joy Carpets, it's called Walk of Fame. The sample does not do it justice. And, as I've said before, it was 1/3 the price of what I was going to originally put down. AND I can save this carpet in the event of another, you-know-what.

AND I can't forget that the chairs came form Roman. Excellent service as his usual. Highly recommend using him. The seats are Berkline 12010's in black leather and electric. With Butt Kickers. I find them really comfortable for my height. There is a point where the legs go up and the back leans back for perfect head support for me. And Max seems to like them as it took about two minutes for him to climb up there.

I had picked up used from Cathan his Axiom Center 150, 2 QS8s and an SVS 20-39PC Plus Cylindrical Sub. So I bought two Axiom M60 towers and a third QS8 for a center surround.

Ultimately, for the screen, I have the original SMX AT material from when he was selling out and stopping the off-the-roll sales. MY plan was to make an electric screen from parts. However over time, I found an Elite Electric (non AT) for less than I can build it, so I bought it. It was SUPPOSED to be delivered last week an I was hoping to include it in the pics above. It's due in today. My plan is to replace the material with my own.

HOWEVER....I probably won't be doing that until I'm ready to bring down the BD player and the Denon 3806 receiver and really dial everything in. For now, I'll enjoy what I have set up....SD and all. I'm STILL blown away. So, it's safe to say that I really like the M60s.

For any locals, I plan to be around Saturday and I have two requests. It's still a work zone, but you can certainly get a good idea of the room's performance.

Request 1) Anyone have a couple (as in, two) of quality F connectors for Quad Shielded coax? I can't seem to get mine to work and I'm using the cheap stuff.

Request 2) Anyone have one of the old SD demo disks they'd be willing to let me copy? It seems that all of the old links are dead. I have the Blue Ray Demo, would like the SD one for now.

Thanks! I got a couple of quotes to install only, and it's not that big of an expense. But my buddy wanted to help out. If anything, it may have cost me MORE to do it myself (well for Mike to do it) but that's because Home Depot only sells the pad by the full roll and we only needed half. An installer should only charge you for what was used. And we had to rent the power stretcher but that only added about $20 to the project. I figure I'll hold on to the rest of the pad in case of another you-know-what. Again, based on my original carpet selection I'm WAY ahead. And remember that "free installation" is never FREE. They'll build it into the cost of the carpet.

Yes, I'm aware of that thread, but it's Blue Ray. I'm looking for the old DVD version.
