all the characters are as serious as robots, and theres some huge struggle that everyone is obsessing about and everyone is 25 but nobody acts 25. Am I missing something with this series?
John, I felt the same way. While channel surfing I'd come across an episode of BSG on Sci-Fi, linger for about 10 seconds and move on thinking "that looks pretty lame" (while at the same time remembering the original series and how much I disliked it).
After reading the discussion in this thread I decided what the heck, it's available at Hollywood video why not take a look at the first disc (BSG miniseries - Season 1 disc 1) and see what all the fuss is about.....
Grab my keys, head over to Hollywood video, pick up the first three disc of the first season, head back home, throw disc one in, totally expecting not to be impressed, and BAM!
So hooked, as a matter of fact, that just 10 to 15 min. into the first disk I paused the DVD, pulled up Amazon.com and immediately ordered the complete series (1,2, 2.5 & 3) to include the 'Razor
' disc (the first season is available on HD DVD so I ordered the HD DVD discs). My DVR is set to record Season 4 so that as soon as I finish the Season 3 I can begin Season 4 (which I will order as soon as it becomes available on DVD).
I've completed Seasons 1, 2, 2.5 and will be watching "Razor" and beginning Season 3 this weekend (I may complete season 3 if I decide to wait until next week to do yard work
It may not hit you the way it did me but I am completely enjoying this series. When one episode ends I want to immediately begin the next (BSG Junkie!).
Rent the first disc and check it out, all you have to lose is a little time. If you don't like it forget about it, but if you do like it you will gain so much enjoyment and entertainment (but perhaps lose some money if you decide to buy the series).
