Verizon Motorola QIP6416-2 HD-DVR Random Beeping?

Hello all, I apologize if this has been previously covered but the search function didnt yield any helpful results so I will ask...

I have a Verizon FiOS Motorola QIP6416-2 HD-DVR and every hour or so, it randomly beeps.

there is no pattern so for the longest time I thought it was my PS3 since the Motorola never beeps during normal use.

anyway, is there any reason why, and is there any way to stop it?

I have looked in the user menu as well as the service menu and still see no explanation.

I'm having the exact same issue. Can't find out exactly why this is happening. Hopefully an answer comes soon.

Seems to be a recent HD DVR issue with FiOS when you are using a Sony Receiver and an optical cable. See below. What it sounds like is the audible beep that signals the computers to serve a local cable commercial. The receiver is supposed ot ignore it, but Sony receiverfs are picking it up for some reason.
