Is this receiver good enough for Definitive speakers?

Thread Starter
Just bought a set of Definitive Mythos.
Front speakers are Mythos 1. -- Recommended 20 - 250 Watts/channel.
Center is Mythos 3 -- Recommended 10 - 200 Watts/channel.
Rears are Mythos Gem -- 10 - 200 Watts/channel.
Sub is supercube II.

I'm looking at this Denon AVR-4308CI. Power output is 140 Watt. Is that enough to power these speakers? Or do I need a separate amp for the Mythos 1?

My video source is the PS3, DirectV HD and RS1- RCA projector. Most of my video sources will be HD format either 1080i or blu ray 1080p. Will the pass through still very good for this receiver?

Thanks for any inputs.

You could go several notches down in the Denon line and still be fine.

Def Tech are very efficient speakers, the 4308 will drive them with no problems.

I'm running an integra 7.8(130wpc) w/ 7002 CLR3000 BPXs and it rocks.

That Denon will be fine. Truly, as others said, several receivers down the Denon line will be fine. I'm running BP7002s, CLR2500, BPX, and a SC II with an Onkyo TX-SR805, and it powers them extremely well.
