JVC DLA-HX2 reviews

I find the deal on these interesting, but I am not having any luck finding reviews. Does anyone know how they look? How does it compare to the Mits HC1500, Epson HC720, Pana AX200? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Since it used to be $12K you may have to check the above $3k projector forum for quicker answers.

Bought one from Jason. Rushed to hook it up last night projecting on a piece of Dazian CCC hanging loosely from the wall at 120" in my light controlled room with broadcast HD (American Idol) over component video (AI has poor video quality to begin with).

Ok, it's three years old and 'only' 720p+ with low (1500:1) contrast, but I love it.

Interestingly enough, my wife (who is not at all into the technical bits or has ever discussed DLP v. LCOS v. LCD) very first comment was 'it looks like film, not TV'. Perhaps the LCOS advantages are more pronounced then often discussed herein.

Until 1080p collapses to the 1k price point I am for want of nothing. Really, I can more than live with this at $600 (bought the refurb). With all lights off you can tell that the absolute blacks may not be perfect, but with any ambient light you can not notice. Likely the low light detail will suffer, but for high brightness scenes it should be great.

The brightness (500+ lumens or so) is absolutely fine at 120" (I will likely go with 110" to give it just a bit more pop); even with a modest amount of controlled ambient light.
