RXV800 playing rear speakers when on B channel

Hi,
I have a rxv800 and have a connected speakers to both and A and B channels, and when I select to play B channel only I still hear sound in the surround speakers connected to the receiver, please help.

usually speaker B is the rears on a yamaha receiver. what is it that you are expecting from the speaker B option?
