Just purchased Klipsch RF 63's....Good amp to go with?

Thread Starter
id like to start off by first saying i know threads like this get started all the time and its annoying as hell but i really dont know a whole lot about amps and would just like to get started in a good direction so i can make my own choice when i decide to purchase one...now with that out of the way!

i purchased the klipsch rf 63's with the RC 64 center over the weekend...im for now still using some polk FXi5's till i go back and purchase the surrounds...my receiver is the pioneer VSX-91TXH, or rather i should say will be as i havent picked it up yet since they had to order it for me...for now its the yamaha ive had for about a year....like i said i know very little about amps and really dont want to spend any more than $2000 on one...should i get a seperate amp for each channel? do i need a seperate amp for my surrounds or can they just run off the receiver? should i only get an amp for my front 3 speakers? those are really the main questions i want to know...based on the little i have read on amps i figured $2000 was an ok figure....i guess........id really just like some opinions...thanks

unless your room is massive, the pioneer will handle those ultra sensitive(99db) speakers just fine. Save some money and add a second sub

A lot depends on the level of dynamics you want to achieve and the size and reverberation of the room you are using them in. The Pioneer may be adequite, I'm not familiar with the Pios enough to say one way or another.

Although they are super-efficient Klipsch Reference series tend to become astonishingly better with high quality amplification. I have the same trio of speakers across the front in my dedicated theater which is on the "smallish" side at 13.5'x18'x 9' but is acoustically VERY dead. These are being driven by an Aragon 3005 which is 300wpc, which one would think is a bit of overkill, however, when I substitute a Rotel RMB 1077 (100 wpc or about what the Pio receiever puts out) there is a noticable loss of "low/mid dynamics". The sound actually sounds like it is coming from a smaller speaker.

I do agree with the previous poster that some of that $2000 may be better spent on a second (or better) sub. I've had (actually still have in another system) the HSU 30 Turbo you are using but currently I'm using an SVS Ultra 13 (about $1400) which sonically melds better with the Klipsch.
