Is it possible to have a pic that is TOO realistic?

I am actually a plasma guy, but I strolled into a BB today to take a look at some smaller sized LCDs. Everyone in the section had their eyes glues to a showing of Transformers on BD on some latest Samsung 46 incher with all the bells and whistles.
I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A REALISTIC PIC IN MY LIFE.
It almost disturbed me...lol.
It actually didnt look "good" or "right".
It reminded me of when they film the filming of a movie and you see bits of it on TV in some documentary on the making of the film and its without the right color effects, or lenses or whatever they do to make it look like a movie (I realize that may have sounded ridiculous).

Anyways, it was TOO real.
For me, the artificial movie feel that I believe was intended was lost and I felt like I was watching a car chase in front of me on the street. Oh yeah, and it actually revealed some poor skin on that lead actress; something I never caught in the theatre or on my Panny plasma.

That's the effect of the 120Hz interpolation. You can turn it off.

Temporally scales the image so that there are extra frames created between the original ones. Like all scaling techniques it's not 100% accurate and it's the errors that give it that weird look.

Lice I read those threads. I have seen the samsung in action at CC and BB and while I feel that $3K is tooo much for this size screen. I also felt that the other sets there were just not that good, after seeing the sammy.
I want this but its tops to 2k for me...and I mean tops.

The sony and sammy are just too expensive for what you get, I mean 1k more than any other brand? But at the same time I just can't buy another brand after seeing this and wondering why others don't do it too.

My Sony A3000 looks pale compared to them.
1 point, I could see 50 sets and the sammy stood out with more color and a clearer picture half way across the store.

I do wish some other brand would match or beat the sammy pic for 1k less and then maybe tv's would get down in price to where they should be.

Look at Toshiba XF550. it's about 1K less and you can get everything you want for the price.

thanks dbyun I will.
I want that kind of picture, color and brightness I see with the samsung. BUT I am not going to pay that price.
So this is on my list for Will Check it out.

I saw prices of 1799-2500 on pricewatch for the 46 in. I can't wait to check this out in store for a comparison.
