For those who missed the network news in HD announcements:

"CBS expects to launch an HD version of The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, after its new HD control room goes online in June."

"ABC also plans to broadcast both conventions in HD and launch HD broadcasts of its nightly news programs World News Tonight, and Nightline, as well as its newsmagazines, the week of Sept. 8."

If Nightline goes HD in September, maybe Kimmel will go HD this fall as well? ABC does not have any other HD late night programming, so could one of the holdups for Kimmel going HD be the issue of providing a HD feed after prime time? It would be nice to get all the late night talk shows converted to HD; I might even watch Kimmel or Ferguson from time to time if they were HD.

Well last week Kimmel was complaing the stooges at ABC made him get his teeth whitened for updates they were making to the show, possibly meaning HD?

Katie Couric in HD? That might set HD set sales back a bit. Can they turn the skin detail suppression to 11?

This Week with George Stephanopolous began broadcasting in HD today. Unfortunately, KOMO 4 decided to show it in SD. I wonder why.
