I'm not sure I agree with that. I mean,
I tend to speed like a maniac in GTA games, but generally I try to avoid killing innocents and bashing up random cars. Sometimes it happens ("Sorry, I'm a bad driver" sez Nico!), but I will go out of my way to avoid that.
Besides, all the reviews I've read have indicated that the storytelling here is much more subtle and complex than in past games. Nico is apparently much more sympathetic than previous GTA protagonists.

I get the impression that you believe GTA IV is the first ("worthless pornography"), not the second ("serious media"). Have you played it yet? What games
do fit your definition of "serious media"? (Bioshock did for me. GTA IV looks very promising in that respect too.
The Sopranos was a mob story full of sex and violence, and IMO it qualified as "serious media.")
Hopefully this wasn't too off-topic. If so, parsing out the offending posts and sticking them in a new thread might be appropriate (it's what I'd do on the game forum I moderate, IMO).
