The first season 7 cast shot was released today.

Also, there will be a 2 hour prequel in the fall before the start of the season in Jan '09.

Isn't that second actor from the right the one that played in Stephen King's Storm of the Century? If so, cool deal, always liked him.

WTF! Give us a two-hour tease and make us wait 4 months. Don’t like that.

I’m not familiar with Annie Wersching, but she looks good in that photo. And Chloe still looks very doable.

I am not crazy about a 2 hour tease myself they should just wait till the new season starts.

Is that Janeane Garofalo in the picture? This might be a baddddd season of 24.

I did not see a picture of his daughter in there. Will she be back for any more episodes?

I agree. Unless the 2 hours is a self contained storyline and not a cliffhanger.

They are probably doing this to get people to start talking about the show before it kicks off in January. Lets face it out of sight out of mind.

Yep, that was announced way back last summer or fall when casting information about this season was released. She was terrific during her run in 'The West Wing'; we should expect no less here.

Obviously, this is all Six Degrees of The Larry Sanders Show, where Jeanine was replaced by Mary Lynn Rajskub, and it probably didn't hurt her chances that Penny Johnson was on both shows as well.

A 4 month break after all this is ridiculous. I was a loyal 'Jack' fan for years and bought most of the DVD sets. But this show seemed to be on its last legs this past season, and I don't plan on returning for the funeral.

I never watched The West Wing.

I remember her from the Ben Stiller Show, King of Queens, and Reality Bites. Garofalo is a very aquired taste of humor. I can't see her doing action.

Does anyone know the premise of this seasons storyline? Is it a nuke? Biological? Assasination?

Comedians make excellent dramatic actors...for obvious reasons. The list is endless.

Just so terrorists and CTU aren't involved, I couldn't care less.

After the last two or three seasons, that'd be pretty near impossible.

I'll echo the comment that she was very likeable on The West Wing.

I'm thinking more like going up the baddy chain straight to The Devil himself what with the need for ever escalating villains to hate and fear. Just think of the tensions when Jack captures an incubus, hell-hound or goblin. Will he be able to torture it, or will it overpower and do ultimate evil to Jack? We all know it will, but the process will be excruciatingly delectable as Jack closes in on Beelzebub. If we are lucky some unspeakably manifestation of evil will finally put Jack's daughter, and consequently us, out of her/our misery in the process. Her screaming will be horrible - as usual.

Just what's already been posted on dozens of websites:

I think it has to do with the government's computers being breached and a national security crisis. I also read that CTU has been completely disbanded so we won't have that setting at all. I also think Jack is being tried for treason or something. And I heard a rumor that one of our "favorite" people from past seasons is being resurrected with the initials of TA. But I'm not sure how they can do that with any plausible explanation. According to some of the credits, it appears that our favorite little Kim is returning as well.

In that case....

They should make Eddie Murphy the President and Robin Williams is in command of CTU. He'll need his beard for this role.

I'd like to remind you that Mary Lynn Rajskub, Chloe O'Brian, is a stand up comedian. She has done a fine job since her arrival in Season 3.

Robin Williams was an excellent straight man in "Night at the Museum". However, he's too soft around the middle these days to pass the CTU physical...

Then there was this movie called Good Will Hunting...

Sure, but "Night at the Museum" was the first time I forgot I was watching Robin Williams.

On the other hand, "License to Wed" was the first time I felt sorry for him.

Let's up the ante by casting Obama as the President and Hillary as Sherry Palmer. If you think sparks flew in the first few seasons between the originals, wait 'till you catch these two.

'24's' 7th Season To Take Place Roughly Four Years After Season 6

"Though it was previously reported that 24's seventh season, set to debut in January of 2009, would take place about a year after season six ended, I am now hearing that a much longer period of time will have passed. According to a source, roughly four years will have gone by since we last saw Jack Bauer, standing on the edge of that cliff and staring out at the ocean."

Some info on the 24 season 7 "prequel."

So, does that mean that we should consider hours 23 & 24 a "sequel"? :rolleyes"

No there will only be 22 episodes. The "movie" is really hours 1 and 2.

I agree that the casting of Janeane Garofalo is good news. She is a sound actress and has a lot of range. I expect that she will be good. Clearly, last season's 24 was not up to the standards of earlier years. Still, hope springs eternal.
