Yamaha VS Pioneer

Well I thought I had it all figured out with pioneer and klipsch, but the sales guy talked me out of the Klipsch for my room, Which is 30 x 30 stone and hard wood floors w/ 10' octagon type ceiling. He thought thry would be too brite. Now I have gone to Monitior radius 90's the size makes the wife happy, a Martin logan grotto sub. Now the problem is the receiver, either the Pioneer elite vsx94 or the Yamaha rxv863 price is close to the same.

I'm in the same boat, i like the features of the Pioneers but the calibration system of the Yamaha uses a parmetric EQ which is much better for adjusting room acoutics. I still used my SPL meter to fine-tune levels and such. I recommand that you reseach the parmetric and graphic EQ differences before you make your buy. Also the Yamahas offer a seperate EQ just for the center channel speaker, this is real helpful if you need that extra boost in the vocals.
