LOL! I think that's better served over in the Tweak City forum.

Sounds like you can post the standard prices if you want to. It's not a matter of no prices:
Please no price talk other then MSRP!

Sounds good.

The Scamp-10 will retail for $159. Depending on the fluctuation of the dollar, it may go up, but not a lot. That's an almost ridiculous price for the performance it gives (sorry Craig - you're an evil genius).

The WAF-1's have a target price of $179 per pair. They will be offered in Satin black and veneer finishes yet to be announced.

The Gizmo 2-channel amp will have a retail price of around $129, but according to this thread, if you register on the Tweak City forum between now and May 31st, you'll get up to three Gizmo's for $99. For those who registered before April 1st you'll get your first Gizmo for $89 and up to two more for $99.

Craig and his team can fix any of my errors and give out the other info.

Well, not quite that simple. Separate ownership, but lots of coordination/collaboration - see post #24 above, and here are some comments from TCA's owner, from this post:

We are using (and paying for) the same designers that AV123 is using.

Doug Goldberg is the lead guy for the amplifiers from both companies, and he coordinates performance for us both from the Asian suppliers. The quality level on products from TCA and AV123 will be equal.

AV123 and TCA will be, in many ways, working closely together. You will see us share platforms for amps, Dacs, etc ...

You will see Mark Seaton in both of our company's subwoofers.

You will see Doug and Stephen in both of our amplifiers.

Is there an ETA on the sub?

Craig is thinking around Labor Day, but we'll see.

Completely.
Mitch (mziegler), Some final "tweaks" are taking place with the drivers and amps, and then we will be ordering as many as 1000 of each.

The ETA is going to be determined by how quickly our 2 OEM's can get them built.

I should have more info by 5-16, and will be posting it on TCA.

Buzzy, I don't mind being quoted, but you left out a few important points.

A poster on AV123 had just expressed his opinion and position that he was not comfortable in purchasing anything from Tweak City Audio because we were not AV123.

His last paragraph was:
Quote:
Let me sum up with a clear example of the trust involved here, and what has been lost in the shuffle: I would have preordered an x-empower from AV123. I will not preorder from TCA. Instead, I will wait until the amp is released, been reviewed, and then I will decide based on the strengths of the product.

So ... I answered him with this post:

You also don't need to apologize. When TCA was established (MY apologies to anyone who has read the mission statement), we decided to make it very "lean".

When we order products in, there will BE no pre orders. There will be products purchased by TCA, and fully paid for, before orders are taken.

Our criteria for that is the products must have cleared customs before orders are taken.

Even if you WANTED to pre-order, you couldn't.

AV123 and TCA will be, in many ways, working closely together. You will see us share platforms for amps, Dacs, etc ...

You will see Mark Seaton in both of our company's subwoofers.

You will see Doug and Stephen in both of our amplifiers.

You will see Mark Schifter owning TCA gear and Craig Chase owning AV123 gear.

Perhaps, someday, you will have some level of trust in TCA. It would be something earned, and I appreciate that.

The wording you snipped out is rather important to someone reading this thread.
That wasn't the point at all, though now that you mention it, I can imagine (I think) what you're getting at and why you might have thought that it was. I don't know that anyone else here would have, since hardly anyone actually follows the links IMO. But all that stuff was irrelevant to the topic - Nuance's completely separate comment. Your earlier post and the quoted comments should help make that clearer - the rest would have just been distracting.

Quick question for craig...

When do you guys anticipate releasing towers and centers? I will be in the market for a 5.1 system in the next couple months and would like to audition you guys with the other ID dealers out there.

Ryan9 - Craig will better answer your question, but please take a look at the first post in this thread.

Hope that helps.
Ryan9 - A tower is also in the works, and will follow shortly after the bookshelf arrives. I estimate the bookshelf will start arriving in people's homes in August, with the tower abut 90 days past that.

I Want This Sub. I'm Buying 2.
Craig, congrats on getting this off the ground!

You have been a phenomenal resource for audio, especially subs here.
I'm glad to see you getting your own visions to market.
I'm looking forward to hearing the scamp and the Waf-1 !

Awesome!

Hey guys,

I've read several of the Scamp threads including those on the TCA website, but have not found the physical dimensions of the scamp sub. I have not read every single post, so I may have missed them. If someone has them and would be willing to post them, I would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks!

Tweak City Audio has officially announced the availability of their first bookshelf speaker, the WAF-1. Click here for the official announcement and detailed information.

WAF-1 Link

Congrats to Craigsub and his team. I hope this is the beginning of something great!

Any news other than the WAF-1 did the idea of a Scamp-10 for 249 ever come to fruition?
Mitch (mziegler), Some final "tweaks" are taking place with the drivers and amps, and then we will be ordering as many as 1000 of each.

The ETA is going to be determined by how quickly our 2 OEM's can get them built.

I should have more info by 5-16, and will be posting it on TCA.

Any update for the AVS crowd?
The WAF-1 looks great i think i will hold out however till a 5.1 with towers. Is it true you have to buy the WAF's buy the pair so no 5.1? Cant wait to see the towers any chance for a 5.1 with towers and a Scamp-10 for 1000-1200 shipped?

The Scamp-10 was later renamed SS-10 (Sasquatch-10), but that design won't happen since Seaton is no longer designing for TCA. Craigsub is working on something to take the place of SS-10.

True, you can't buy 5 WAF-1, but they are doing special pricing that you can get 3 pairs for $599....which essentially means you're getting the 6th speaker for $26.50. In the end, it probably would've cost them more in repackaging as single speakers than to give the deals on a 6.0 system.

Just speculation here, but....since Craig hasn't mentioned the towers since very early on...and given how long it took for the WAF-1 to come to fruition, it may be awhile before any towers become available.
I am interested to see if craig is working on a tower that might have the dynamics of the JTR's at a better price point.

I visited TCA's site and couldnt find the subs.

Craig. Do you by any chance have some kind of window date for possible release of towers or subs?
Hi guys - We have prototypes of both drivers and amps for 3 different subwoofer designs I have been working on, plus my brother has the drivers for a very high efficiency monitor he is working on.

I will have completed prototypes of 2 of the subwoofers done next week, and plan on ordering a quantity of amps and drivers from our OEMs the following week.

Because of the subwoofer design to match with WAF-1's, I am holding off on the tower speakers for now. This subwoofer will easily allow one to do a 100 Hz crossover with the WAF-1's. This will negate the advantage of the towers to play deeper, and will also allow for an overall higher performing system than will the budget required for the towers with a less capable subwoofer.

I am trying to stay away from a lot of "feel good" vaporware, so information on the subs has not yet been posted. Once we are past the prototype stage, and supplies are ordered, I will post specs and dimensions.
