Gallo ref 3.1 placement

Any gallo owners out there that can chime in regarding proper placement? I was considering mag 3.6s at first, but judging by the lack of response to my mag thread, I assumed that my room was too small for them. From the reviews, it appears that ref 3.1s may be better for a medium size room. Listening area is 13w x 15d x 8h (speakers will be along 13' wall couch is 15' from wall). Total open area is 13w x 30d x 8h. Hardwood floor, a couple sound absorbing panels and bass traps, some area rugs. Think this could work with the ref 3.1s ?

So you're saying your listening position is 15' from the back wall in a room 30ft long? Not a good idea, the middle of the room is not a good location for bass response, meaning you won't have much in this case.

I don't see a problem. Sounds like the room has an open area off to the side. 3.1's will be OK.

It's not the speakers that are the issue, it's the listening position if it's the case that the listening position is in the center of the room.

It's not exactly half way. My current right, left, center and sub are maybe 2 feet forward from the wall. Will that still present a problem?

I believe so, you don't want to have your listening position smack dab in the middle of the room. Bad for bass response.

The Gallo's will be perfect for your size room. Mine is almost the same. regarding seating position the Gallo's and just about any speaker would sound better if you were sitting closer. General rule is speaker and listening distances should be in an equidistant trangle.
