I suggest you read the five part series by the "EXPERTS" that contribute in the VP threads on this forum. "Importance of 1080P" your statements are based upon amateur old and dated gossip not the technology.
Please do offer up your credentials to question the statements made and support it with Evidence rather than opinion there is a gossip section and this is not it.
I think you may have misunderstood what I was saying. I am fully aware that this and other sets can recover 24fps, whether broadcast or from a DVD player, by reversing the 3:2 process. I am also fully aware that there are advantages to doing this, even on a 60hz set.
However, that is not what I was addressing. I was responding to specific wording by Sony regarding this set's ability to accept a 1080p24 input. The paragraph in question implies that such material is displayed
at 24 fps, which as far as I know is not possible on this set. I may be wrong.
Westa, I have read many of your posts and have nothing but respect for you. I am fully aware that I do not share your expertise. But I do not think what I said is "gossip" or out of place in this thread. I found your post to be hurtful, but I fully hope that this was based on a misunderstanding about my post.
In any event, this thread has had enough of this topic, and I will drop it.
