Question about cleaning kuro 5080

I was wondering if the monster screen screen cleaner is a safe/good product for cleaning the 5080 kuro. I used it a couple times on it, the first time I sprayed on the screen(I KNOW NOW BAD IDEA) and it left alot of streaks on it.

Upon calling BB they told me to spray a couple squirts on cloth and use it that way and it did take the streaks away. but now it seems that there is like a purple haze on parts of it when the tv is off and im looking at it from a side angle. I only see it with a little bit of sunlight on it. just wondering if this was normal or the screen cleaner doin it.

I did read the manual and now only clean it with the cleaning cloth supplied, but just lookin for advice from other people that may have used monster screen cleaner on the 5080. I dont want to take off the coating on it

do not use that stuff ever, it will take the coating off. if I have to use liquid I use distilled water.

Do not use it any more. Just use the cloth that came with the 5080 and some distilled water.

Unfortunately, you have removed some of the screen coating. I'm not sure if this can be repaired but you should contact Pioneer and see what options are available.

If BB sold you that cleaner with the TV, have them exchange it. It a disservice to the client.

also the screen "smudges" are not viewable when the tv is on, just when looking at it from a side angle with sunlight kinda lighting the area, also there is no residue on the microfiber cloths that looks like i took something off of it.

1 more thing, I use the screen cleaner on my lcd comp monitor with no adverse effects. pretty sure its a different coating, just really nervous that i ruined a +$2k tv, as I am out of my 30 day return window by like 5 days.

If you don't notice anything different while watching it then you might be alright, but whatever you do, don't use that cleaner anymore. Use the cloth that came with the TV (or a microfiber cloth) and some distilled water.

the thing that sucks is that i cleaned it the day i set it up, but didnt notice it until the next morning, and i did not look at it from the side when i had it set up so i have no comparison to what it looked like before. does anyone have links or pics of screens with damaged anti glare screens? is the kuros anti glare screen different than anything else out there?

Lots of customer reviews on amazon and BB say great things about it, nut i have a feeling that many people aren't as anal about their screens as me. 1 review on amazon had a situation similar to mine where he used the supplied cloth and something called Mirachem optix, he was using a flashlight to inspect so i think i am going to do the same, but just use the distilled and supplied cloth. Ill let you guys know how it works out.

If you can still return your TV I suggest you do so as soon as possible and consider this a lesson learned.

Most of the time you only need to dust it. I like the microfiber rags they work great. For cleaning a damp cloth followed by a dry microfiber has excellent results

think i lucked out, i bought some distilled water and washed the supplied cleaning cloth with the 1% detergent, so far seems that my streaks are gone, think it was residue from the monster cleaner.....

Help please.
I just barely tried wiping down my Kuro with this cursed Monster ScreenClean thinking it would be safe. I started wiping the top half of the screen, but as soon as I saw purple streaks, I panicked and searched out this thread only to find my nightmares were true. That stuff really is evil.

I hurried and got some distilled water and scrubbed away the streaks but now it looks like the bottom half has the coating and the top half does not.

This TV was my cherished prize for more than 5 years of work. I'm petrified that I ruined it. I've had it about 6 months. Bought it locally at R.C.Willey. Any advice please?

microfiber cloth , slightly damp with water

I also do not clean the screen often (do not want to damage it), i think my 5010 was only cleaned once; my new pro-141 hasnt been touched yet

Don't do anything to it. Contact Monster and see if they're willing to part with some of those fat profits they make selling overpriced snake oiil...
