Walls and Ceiling question

Thread Starter
I have a couple of design questions.

First is my walls.

I cannot make my mind up between going with
5/8" dry x staggered stud with 3 1/2" cotton x SS isolation tape x 5/8" dry x GG x 5/8" dry

or

5/8" dry x staggered stud with 3 1/2" cotton x MLV x RSIC-1 x 5/8" dry x GG x 5/8" dry

Second is my ceilings with

8" Cotton between joices x SS isolation tape x 5/8" dry x GG x 5/8" dry

or

8" Cotton between joices x MLV x RSIC-1 x 5/8" dry x GG x 5/8" dry

thanks

I went with 5/8" x GG x 5/8 dry with insulation in all walls and celings.
Used a Pella external french door for my entrance.

This combination has provided very effective sound isolation for my theater.

With dead silence in the rest of the house, you can barely hear it at a very low level, even right outside theater door.

My wive can watch TV or listen to music in the living room without being bothered.

Only place you can hear sound from the HT a bit more is in the bedroom right above the HT.

This is due to the HT and the bedroom coming off the same HVAC duct.

It is actually surprisingly quiet considering I did not do any special treatment of the ducting.

I will be putting in some basic treatment in the duct entering the HT, which should resolve this issue.
