Mcintosh MHT-200 Power On Problem

My friends Mcintosh MHT-200 surround receiver was unplugged from the wall outlet to make painting the room easier. When he attempted to power the unit up about a week later, the unit would not come out of standby, and operate.

I have the identical unit, and i have unplugged the unit from my power center numerous times, without any special procedure, and did not experience this problem.

Have any of the forum members heard of this situation, or any suggestions to try to get the unit operating? Someone told him that he should have disconnected the interconnect cables, and use a special shutdown process.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Other than their amps, McIntosh electronics are very finicky.

If the red light is lit, but it is stuck in standby, try holding down the red power button for a few seconds. This will reset the microprocessors.
