Please help me decide between the 4069f or the 40a550.
Price difference for me is only $80 so it is not important.

I prefer which ever one has better picture quality. I dont care much for 120hz but I am afraid that 120hz might be mainstream in a few years so I also want to take that into account.

So please help me decide purely on picture quality.
120hz, sound, and price are secondary.

this is going to be a hard one, you just gotta decide if 120hz is really what you want or need and then see which looks better with your own eyes.

btw have you looked at the new V4100 from Sony? there's a really good picture comparsion of the V4100 and 550 courtesy of Guruintraining. here they are:

i bought the v4100 to try and i returned it right away. the picture quality is not as good compared to the 4069f on hd cable in my opinion.

im still stuck between the 4069f and 40a550 and my 30 day return policy ends in 1 week! please help me decide.

hmm...one question, when you say the PQ is not as good, how or what aspects of the PQ are not as good? is it the blacks or the sharpness or something else? have you played with the settings? checked other sources?

if you are still stuck between returning the 69f and getting the 550, why not also buy the 550 like you did with the sony and compare the two? if the 550 is better than the 69f then keep it and return the 69f.
