Need help with my audio

Hello ya'll!
I hope I am in the right forum, but here is my problem. I have an ATI 650 tv tuner card. The audio in Windows is very low, but in Media Player 11 it is fine. By Windows, I mean even the muzak on the welcome to windows screen is very low. I have downloaded every driver I can find, I have codecs out the wazoo (that hurts), and even downloaded some audio boosters, and nothing works. I even downloaded BeyondTV to see if it was the ATI software, and nothing. I have onboard audio, and have updated those drivers. I have the sound in the bios set to onboard. I am running xp pro sp2, 2g of ram, 160g hd, fresh install of xp. Help!

Double click the speaker icon down by the clock. Set both the Volume Control and Wave sliders to about 70%. Now open Windows Media Player and set the volume slider there to about 70%. Things should be more or less equal now. If not, play with all 3 sliders until all sounds are evened out.

ok, all that will do is have media player as low as windows. Maybe I'm not being clear - I need more volume in windows! I can barely hear my tv tuner and I have it wide open,so is my volume control in windows. If I turn them down to 70%, then I won't hear them at all!
