Emotiva Speakers Owner's Thread

They aren't in yet, but mine are on order and they will be in a few days (hopefully). So I thought I'd start a thread for them and see who else out there is getting them and excited to put them through a workout.

Link to company:
Emotiva

ERM-1:
Monitors (L/C/R)

ERD-1
Surrounds (Bi/Dipole)

I am replacing a full set of 6 month old eDs that I really liked. I am building a new room and decided to go with bookshelfs for the fronts. One of the big benefits in my opinion is gaining matching speakers for L/C/R for a perfect blend on the front sound stage. In fact, the surrounds have the same exact drivers, so really it's a perfect blend across all channels.

The build quality looks to be spectacular. And the features as well: boundary compensation, adjustable tweeter level, bi/dipole switchable surrounds. This is what I have been looking for in a set.

They are rather boring looking. And if I wasn't building a dedicated room for them to go in, I would have a second thought putting them in a family room style HT that I am coming from. In fact, I have a GORGEOUS set of Swan Diva's sitting here in boxes that I had planned on using, but instead will go to someone else. It was a tough decision trading the Swans for the Emo's, but the Emo's really appear to designed for dedicated HT.

Count me in for a set. I'm looking to replace my harsh/fatiguing sounding Klipsch RF-35 system. I got an Emotiva DMR-1 and LOVE it.

Well mine are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Can't wait to check them out! It will be about two weeks before my room is ready, so I will just have to play with them using a temporary setup for now.

Time to bump this up and get this thread rolling.
My room is built and my Emos are installed. They look and sound great so far. I am only now starting to put them through their paces.

I have a 7.1 config. 3 ERM-1s in the front, 4 ERD-1s in back. The sides are in dipole mode and the rears are bipole. Set them all to 75db using my sound meter. Ready to try out some more movies.

Anyone else out there pick these up yet?

Well I'm happy with my new centre channel. It replaces a Celestion that I've had for 15yrs. Not as boxy sounding and sounds more similar to my front channel. Definately a good buy.

So, what is the word on the setup. Do you like the ERM/ERDs???

Give us the lowdown.

Loving them!
Have watched a couple dozen movies by now and really like my setup. I could probably tweak them more, try the switches in different positions, etc. But the out of the box sounds with basic calibration is great.
They seem to have a very neutral sound to me. Not bright at all.

The ERMs are VERY heavy for their size.

They are a great match for my room.
